Norton - yep, he's involved in this one too...

Big Bob is involved in this company as well - the scam of Norton Motor Company in North America. Big Bob's is on their board of directors - see for yourself what the ORIGINAL and TRUE Norton Motor Company says about this Minnesota corporation...

http://www.nortonmotors.de/press_release.htm

In addition, the MN corp seems to have acquired their Norton trademark "rights" in an ill-gotten way, with the North American "Norton" having an illustrious past...read this news story, and scroll down on this URL to read all about their dignified and "god-fearing" past...just one more drop in the DeMaio fraud bucket...

Skeptic

I'm alittle skeptic about you wanting us to use your forum, to divert traffic to your site and help promote it. There are some real good reasons to stick with this forum instead even though its unorganized.
1) Other people thinking about signing up for a new ISP might read this and decide not to sign up, so they won't get taken by Bob DeMaio.
2) If you do a google search on Bob Demain this is the first web site you see on the list. Or if you do a google search for Dot1web this forum is at the top of the list. It has the same listing on Yahoo and a lot of other search engines. So right now when people do a search for either of thoughs words the first thing they will see is:
"freedomlist.com ::
... DOT1WEB IS GOING BANKRUPT!!!! Jason Dec-28-02 19:28, All, I used to work in Engineering
for Dot1Web until they laid us ALL off a week ago. ... DOT1WEB-Bob Demaio. ... "

Sorry for being skeptical, I do like your web site, and what is about. If your intentions are good and I don't doubt that they are I apologies. My main reasons/questions for being skeptical are: Did or do you have any connections with Dot1web e.g.( Are you one of the ex-employees or an ex-investor?) and if your answer is no to the first question is no then what motive do you have for making that site?

The reasons i listed above though are pretty good reason to keep using this forum instead. Regardless if people start posting on your new forum which has a lot better interface, and organization. They should continue posting new messages on this form because it is much more visible to the public right now.

First all there is nothing to promote on that site it is just interface with messages and news about Bob DeMaio and Dot1Web there is no advertising or other links on the site.

I think that people should post everywhere they can, I think that you are right this forum shows up on google, however if you are trying to read this forum it is extremely hard to read, you cannot tell when messages are posted and where.

This isn't about a ISP! I think you might be confused, Bob DeMaio / Dot1Web go back 3 years converting one company into another, one investment scam after another. Last year it was a auction site, before that it was a car rental site, before that it was a Mexican restaurant i can keep going and going like the judgments and lawsuits that follow this guy around like a cheap suit.

Why the other site, very simple 2 things. First it's cleaner and more organized, not just a glob of messages stuck together. Second the more sites like this one and the other one on the Internet the more it comes up on searches etc.

You don't need to be sorry for being skeptical, my intentions are for people not to get ripped off by this guy anymore. If you read the 1st Sgt's message you would understand, yeah maybe the 1st Sgt. should have done a little more home work before investing into a get rich scam, however military personal get paid next to nothing, probably gave a good amount of his life savings to Mr. DeMaio, only to see it sprout wings and fly away.

Let me ask you a question, how would you feel if you gave your kid's college fund to Mr. DeMaio only to have him not return your phone calls or have any trace of your money?

Bob Demaio called us all up at 8:00 PM on Labor Day night to come in and work.

I think he must have been coming off his weekend coke-binge and was having an anxiety attack. Or maybe he lost all his money at Caesar's Tahoe (his favorite place is the high-end slots).

I'm glad I wasn't one of the sad people who drove up there to work that night. I lost my "job", but that's OK, at least I didn't work for free.

Reno Gazette Journal
January 3, 2003
“They did everything they could to sabotage us,” DeMaio said. “I have more than $3 million in legal fees so far.”

Tahoe Bonanza
January 1, 2003Adding to the financial strain, he said, is the large sum spent prosecuting a suit against a group of former employees and a law firm that he says conspired to ruin his companies. He said he intends to see it through to a jury trial to recover the expenses totaling more than $250,000.

(Ok that is a pretty large jump, in just 2 days his lawsuit has gone from $250k to more than $3 million? Someone give me what ever he is smoking)

Reno Gazette Journal
January 3, 2003
“Dot1web is not going out of business,” DeMaio said. “We want to have 30 to 40 people working for us again. We have about 18 now.”

Tahoe Bonanza
December 27, 2002DeMaio said he has aleady hired back nearly 50 of the laidoff staff.

Tahoe Bonanza
December 25, 2002"We've already hired some back, about 46 or so, and expect to hire another eight or nine," DeMaio said, bringing the company's size up to 80 or 90, from its peak of about 140 before the layoffs.

Tahoe Bonanza
December 25, 2002DeMaio said a core of about 50 critical employees remained after the layoffs, of which 22 are engineers who will continue to add features to the company's flagship product, the Dot1web tool bar. Others are in business development and data entry.
(Ok I think this guy needs to write down his lies, he is obviously confusing himself. 50, ahh, 46 err wait no its 18 yeah thats it!)

Reno Gazette Journal
January 3, 2003
Bear Ridge Developers evicted the company from its headquarters last week for not paying rent, said Scott Dutcher, general manager of Bear Ridge.

Tahoe Bonanza
January 1, 2003"Our balance sheet is strong," DeMaio said. "We didn't file for Chapter 11 (bankruptcy), and never intended to."

"Our balance sheet is strong," yeah like Anna Nicole Smith's will power when someone waives a Hershey's bar in her face.

Its funny that this guy claims that the bank doesnt have enough money to cover his payrole.

" DeMaio said the paychecks bounced because its bank at the time did not have enough cash on hand to pay employees."
above article from the reno gazzette

but he also states that all the employees are being paid

In comments last week, DeMaio said "11th hour" funds had been obtained to bridge the financial problems. In the mean time, more than 60 employees have not been paid wages owed them since Dec. 17.
Above article from tahoe bonanza

And in the article from the reno gazzette
The Nevada State Labor Commissioner’s Office is investigating 11 claims filed against Internet service provider Dot1web Inc. of Incline Village.

So Bob here are a few question for ya
1. If the bank didnt have money on hand to pay your employees and you have since stoped banking at that bank, then you have all you money to pay employees, and with the "11 hour funding", why have they filed with the labor board for wages?

2. You stated in two different articles that the lawsuit has cost you 250,000 and then 3 million in the other article, which one is correct.

3. How many employees do you really have 18, 40, 60?, I couldnt get it straight the articles have different amounts

There are other discrepencies in the articles too but right now I just want these questions answered.

And for you grammer checkers out there go ahead check mine I'm not in a spelling bee....

Well some would say that if you saw someone steal a purse from a old lady and you said or did nothing about it that in someway you are responsible.

If an employee or investor new that something was going on and did nothing about it then would they be at fault?

If the State of Nevada had several complaints about Mr. Demaio and his business practices but failed to do anything about it, would they be responsible?

I guess it comes down to a matter of morals, when pertaining to Mr. Demaio you either have them or you don't.

As far as "There must be others" I guess after doing some research for yourself you will find that several people are at fault along with Mr. Demaio.

If you check the Washoe County courts website against recent articles printed about Bob DeMaio in the Tahoe Bonanza, you would be amazed to see that Bob DeMaio has a nasty little habit of suing his employees/ex-employees whenever they tell someone what he's done...nice way of trying to save face, Mr. DeMaio. I also like how he's threatened to sue the banks for not carrying enough cash on hand to pay his employees - yeah, THAT'S why he was evicted - he couldn't get his money out of his accounts because the banks don't carry money! I mean, everyone knows that banks don't carry enough money - that's why they put their money IN them!

Yet another episode in DeMaio's sleazy present...
For the benefit of Haggerty
Jan-3-03 12:27
Mr. Robert C. DeMaio,

Good afternoon Bob, my name is John P. Haggerty.
I'm sure my name doesn't ring any bells for you, but if you would look through your
past actions files, you should find that we have a business contract that hasn't been
fulfilled accordingly.
I have in my possession, a generic loan agreement that was signed by me Feb. 12, 2002
and signed by you Feb. 15, 2002.
The loan was to be used by you for the buyout of LowestBids.com Inc.

The terms of the loan agreement was that it would be paid back to me six months from the date
of the loan, which would have been August 15, 2002. The signed agreement also states that it would be paid in full plus 10% interest.

Mr. DeMaio, The contract says that if the buyout was successful, that I would be paid back within 30 days of the said purchase. It also states that I would have the option to convert any or all of the loan into shares of the new company, at 5 cents a share.

The loan agreement states that this loan is personally guaranteed by any and all assets of Robert DeMaio.

Agreed and accepted, signed and dated by both you and myself.

Mr. DeMaio, I first want to tell you that I am a honest, God fearing, Christian man, and in no way
want to lead you to think I am calling anyone in your corporation a crook.
However, it seems to appear that myself and no doubt many others in the big get rich scheme that was proposed to us by yourself and your business companions, have been left out in the cold while you still have not fulfilled your legal obligation to us.

Well Mr. DeMaio, it is now December 21, 2002, and I have yet to hear anything from you or your business accomplices, and now I wish to ask you for an honest answer that can make me feel good about this Christmas season.
Mr. DeMaio, I'd like you to know that I am currently a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, Army National Guard, and I wait each day knowing that soon I will be called to leave my family and go over seas to fight against someone who they tell me is my enemy.
Will you personally explain to me why I have been forgotten about in the big rush of getting rich?
I wait each day for my call to go over seas to fight against the enemy over there, when I find my real enemy is here in the states.
Maybe to people such as yourself the amount of money I've loaned in good faith to you isn't much. But to people like myself, it is part of a life savings account that won't be replaced unless you come clean with your intentions stated in the signed loan agreement.

Mr. DeMaio, I am a fair and honest man and want to give you the benefit of the doubt.
So what I am going to do, is send you a copy of this letter to you and a copy of the signed loan agreement by both you and myself by a FAX.
This way in the possible cause that you may have lost your copy, you will now have a copy of our signed agreement.

Mr. DeMaio, I hope you can receive this with an open mind on my part.
As a member of the military who is spending Christmas knowing that in a few short weeks I may be called away from my loved ones, it would be a real Christmas blessing knowing that this loose end has been tied up and secured.

Sincerely,
John P. Haggerty
Fisrt Sergeant, US ARMY
National Guard

I know some people who bought shares from Bob DeMaio in "LB", better known as "LowBall.com", and they never received a share certificate in return for their hard earned money, no return phone calls, just excuses why they couldn't get what they paid for. Is that considered stealing? fraud? First Sergeant, you sound like a truly honorable man. The most honorable thing for you to do would be to hold Bob DeMaio to his promised. He is not just part of a private corporation any longer - he is on the board of directors for two publicly traded companies now - Dot1web and Norton Motorcycles. Sounds like Enron, MCI, Tyco? The Securities and Exchange Commission governs this type of behavior for public entities, and they are new and improved - you can submit your complaint online at http://www.sec.gov./ It's quick and easy, and the best way you will ever see your investment returned to you.

First of all, yes it is considered fraud and stealing!, the problem with holding demaio to his promises is that Mr. Demaio has know idea what a promise is, Norton Motorcycles is not traded anymore it is now Dot1Web, LowestBids and Drive4U were merged into the new company called Dot1Web (which was formally Norton Motorcycles) contacting the SEC is a good start, maybe the AG in nevada, or the DA in nevada. Seeing how the First Sgt. got scammed the first thing i would do would be to contact JAG and have them go after the guy, JAG can be extremly effective.

The problem is this guy is so slippery that the SEC etc dont take it serious there have been a ton of complaints to the SEC, AG, DA, Nevada Securities Division and knowone will do a thing about this guy, it is about time the regular joes that cant afford to be scammed by this guy stand up and say something, its not enough just to send a complaint to the SEC you need to send a Compaint to the SEC every week until someone gets off their butts and does something about this guy. call the media, call your da, call your senator just dont stop until someone does something.
