WebWideISP is officially INACTIVE
Curioser
Jan-24-03 18:05
Hey, has anyone noticed that at about the same time 200+ messages were deleted from this board, they changed the category too?

Instead of being found in
"North America > United States > cheap > WebWide ISP > reviews".
we are now officially recognized as
"North America > United States > inactive > WebWide ISP > reviews".

If FreedomList.com says so, it must be true!
We are now hidden away as an "inactive" ISP. no longer
findable on their United States list

yes, I did notice that a while ago and Boz one of the moderators at this site still
has Dot1web on his "CHEAPEST OF THE CHEAP" ISPs [Updated 01-09-03] list http://www.freedomlist.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5682

Another moderator named Corrine said that they removed us because "You have more than made your point about Dot1web. The reason your posts were removed from the Webwideisp review section was because it was out of hand and we were receiving complaints from people trying to find out about the ISP service." Well I wonder who was really complaining? Obviously it was Dot1web complaining because there where to many negative messages about them, and freedomlist folded.

Regardless though they still haven't shut us up and Dot1web is still a sinking ship thats not going to recover. I know this is true Dot1web was sinking while I was still employed there, they just tried to hide it from us.

So now they are even more desperate and owe lots of money have a bad reputation in Incline, and everywhere. They will definitely not be moving into a new building in Incline because all the business people in Incline know about Dot1web now and their not going to be scammed next. I definitely know Dot1web will not make it another or even a few more months.

Servers Were Repossessed?
CodeBorg
Jan-24-03 17:46
InstantWebSiteCreation.com depends on some very specific network hardware being in place. Highly-placed rumors indicate this hardware was not fully paid for. The fact that it's been offline may mean the hardware was finally repossesed by the vendor.

Also, all 15 websites are running extremely slowly. Either they are under attack, bogging them down, or they have been moved to another location and put on a very slow connection. From the throughput I'm seeing, I think all 15 websites are now running on just a few PC's connected to a single DSL line.

Times are tough at Dot1web. Let's hope they can sell some more hardware to start paying people back!

I'm sure all of us who worked on them feel a little sad about that, but, OTOH, it was also maddening that those sites were still operational (even if there were few customers) while we were unpaid for that work.

According to Catherine Leaututu at Interwest Transfer Company, Interwest is no longer working with Dot1web. They were suppose to give investors their stock certificates of Dot1web but they haven't been able to get a hold of Bob in a while. More problems for investors.

Money Coming Soon!
Patiently Waiting
Jan-21-03 20:03
On Saturday 1/11/03, Bob called me by phone and said he was in the Bay Area, arranging some short-term funding. He said he was able to get some money, and would be paying all the current employees up-to-date on Tuesday, when he returned.

Never heard from him again.

Let's make our discussion a little simpler. Does anyone have a story where Bob said he would do something, and then he followed through and did it? Has anyone heard Bob say something that was TRUE? Ever? A positive story about Bob .... anything? Please! I could really use some encouragement right about now.

You can be out of Bob's game, on the sidelines,
or directly in the path of his lies, promises,
blame-filled stories laid on one after the other, and
laid over and over again (if you're not careful).

Now, Jimmy Buffet could probably write a neat song about that subject title, but...

I'm sure Bob just got hung up in the Bay area with some humanitarian activity. Perhaps demonstrating against the Administration's Iraq Policy, or some other humanitarian activity that delayed him there. We ALL know how much he cares for those causes, the underdog, being fair, treating everyone with dignity and honor... You know, good ole' soft hearted Bob

I haven't seen a dime yet. And don't believe a word Bob says. Bob has a long history of not paying employees, contractors, investors etc and can continue to do so because he's protected by the State of Nevada. You can read all about dot1web @ http://www.oocities.org/Dot1news/ I don't know how the people are that made that site but they did a lot of good research and presented it in a non-biased way. Another good site is http://www.codedog.org/nv the guy who made this site is a web developer that was contracted by Bob to make drive4u.com, and hasn't been paid.

P.S. We should probably start using this forum instead http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Dot1news/ freedomlist already erased all our messages once when dot1web complained there where to many negative complaints about them.

Where did you get that information from? Bob was a Plaintiff and Counter-Defendant, so we don't know who the settlement went to, Bob might have lost but we don't know it didn't say in the article. The only information it told us is that the terms of the settlement are confidential.

Regardless it looks like dot1web is recouping, and the same thing that happened to us will probably happen to his new employees too. Why am I being so pessimistic you might ask? Because it has happened before to a lot of other employees from drive4u, lowestbids and dot1web.

I don't care anymore though dot1web is just a cheese wanna be dot com business that I don't believe will ever get off the ground, and will eventually fade away. If you want to use their service goto it. They're not an ISP that I would recommend to anyone.

P.S I'm still waiting for that pay check that they owe me.

You're right about who made the comment about the settled law suit. Bob does talk a good game and that is part of the reason I invested in .1web.

Here is the irony for me. I am angry with Bob because I invested in the company and I still haven't received the stock certificate or loan money that he promised I would get last year. So I hope he rots in hell for screwing me over. But on the other hand I hope he does make it because there may be a change that I can make some money.

Did he pay any employees with stock? If so, has anyone been able to sell the stock?

In these two law suits Bob is the defendant in one he has a counter claim and both of these cases have been consolidated, in the paper they said that the case was against SKINNER so I assume these must be two of the cases that they where referring to. So I don't think the paper told us everything Sarge. I called my cc bank today to dispute my recent billing by webwide. She said that they cannot stop recurring charges, nor does cancellation of the card stop the charges. She said to dispute any additional charges. Calling webwide to drop service or change cards is impossible as the phones are not answered or are eternally busy.

Come on everybody we need to hear your stories again. We know that the freedomlist moderator stole a lot of our thunder when they deleted our messages off the board. The new forum has all ready started up, and we need to hear your stories. We want to hear from everybody thats had dealing with Bob Demaio and Dot1web, eg; investors, employees, and customers.

People have very short memories and it won't be long before butthead Bob's back to his old scams. We can help stop him by airing his dirty laundry on the Internet and contacting Dot1web merchants.

It won't be to long before Bob will find new suckers (investors) and a new groups of employees to ripoff, the same way he suckered us and many others before us. Remembers the lies they told us about how the engineers and lawyers tried to take over his company? We know what the real story is now, they never paid them.

If you are considering using WebWideISP as your ISP, consider this.

The people running the company are currently involved in many lawsuits, some small, some large. The CEO is known for not paying bills and writing fraudelent checks.

To sign up with this ISP, you must report your credit card number.

Identity theft has been a growing criminal problem throughout our country. Credit Card fraud is quite rampant with internet companies.

Be very careful who you give your credit card number out to.

So we should continue the fight some where else because we've already seen what their about. My last complaint is if they arn't going to let us talk about Dot1web/WWISP on their site then they shouldn't let anyone. It is absolute garbage when they delete all the messages from the board execpt messages from one or two years ago that say stuff like "WWISP IS GREAT". We don't even know if that person is still using WWISP and what would he say about WWISP now. Basicly we need to move to another forum. Freedomlist is nothing but a whore.

DOT1WEB EMAIL NOT SECURE
someone who knows
Jan-11-03 22:15
Secure HTTP was never implemented in their e-mail system.

They do not use HTTPS, but rather the insecure, plaintext HTTP protocol.

If you use WebWideISP Email, you will notice in your browser's address bar that they never use HTTPS. If you view the HTML Source, you can search on HTTPS and find nothing.

This means anyone with a packet sniffer on your network or dot1web's can view your "private" mail with no problems.

Keep in mind that .1web hires RANDOM people and there are known CROOKS working at that business. Do you trust your privacy to these individuals.
