college - 2nd Semester (1), freshman year

03.16.03 / 11:24 pm
yeah tons happened since we've been here, but i'll write about it all when i get back. just wanted to drop a line in here since i've got time to kill right now. in fact, i should probably just go to sleep since i couldn't stay awake during today's sermon. so i just left the sanctuary and went to sleep outside. haha i'm a bum. anyways, good times so far and it's good to see an old friend whom i hadn't talked to in a while. much love.

song of the moment: adam sandler - "piece of sh*t car"
haha it's so appropriate. more now than ever before.

last night i came up with the coolest phrase-thingy ever ON THE SPOT:

"are your shoelaces untied.....cuz you be trippin!!"

OH SNAP! that was major ill right there. it gets even better. after i thought of that, i annoyed charis with it for like....an hour. then i wrote it on my forearm, back of my hands, and fingers. i then proceeded to coordinate a little motion-ish, dance kinda thing (i guess) to it. this is brought to you by the wonders of microsoft paintbrush (using only straight lines, too!):

yeah it was great. she flipped out and now everyone thinks i'm the coolest for coming up with such a witty quote. this will be the next big hit in america! now go tattoo yourselves with this awesome work of art on your forearm, back of hands, and fingers. then begin doing the latest dance craze that's sweeping america! no, not the twist, you square! THE "TRIPPIN"! =P so go tell all your friends!!!!

song of the moment: johann pachelbel - "canon in d"
cuz saturn commercial's are so hot right now. hm now to find a song to go with my new dance craze, the "trippin".....

current picks on autotrader:

as of this week, 2 new cars have been posted online which i found worthy of mention. first, a white 1993 nissan 240sx se (coupe) with 157k mi and 5-spd trans. not a bad car seeing as it's only going for $3k. the kbb price for it was about $3,100 so it's going for the right price. i'd say this car is in need of a new engine (157k mi is A LOT!) and if you were to start swapping in new parts (suspension, brakes, etc) that it'd be pretty rusted through as this car has probably seen better days. all in all, a cheap project car that, if enough work is done to it, will perform 2-3x better than it previously did. next up, a black 1995 nissan 240sx se with 5-spd trans. and 93k mi. essentially a prime choice, but due to the somewhat high mileage i'd stay away from this. not to say there's anything wrong with this car, but i'd prefer something with a little bit less on the engine. plus, those big chrome wheels look tacky. then when putting price into consideration, i would DEFINITELY not pay $8,500 for this car especially when for 200 bux more you can get this car. same model, year, and trim without the extra mileage and big, tacky wheels. finally, an honorable mention, the very definition of the word "hotness", this 1997 rsp toyota supra twin-turbo with 6-spd trans and only 57K MI! so hot! yet so expensive. this car is being sold for $64,500! that's about $20k more than it cost when it first came out! which is also more than double the price of current supras up for sale. however, this is all due to the recent surge in popularity of the supra. man....stupid "fast and the furious" had to ruin it for us all. well anyways, that about concludes my current picks.

one day i'll have a 240 as cool as this one:

OMG! some dumbf*ck managed to get his skyline TOTALED! *sigh* when will ppl learn to no be such f*cking morons? what's worse is this all took place in az. yeah, i get pretty worked up about cars.

i noticed not too long ago that saturn (the car company) has been coming out with some pretty touchy, feely commercials lately. it's all good though. i relate and what not. for example, the first one showed a car driving through a small town at night and there are teenagers everywhere. the kids are all dressed up in formal clothing as if they were going to a dance and the song in the background is that old 80's song "forever young." yep, i assume that it's supposed to bring back those happy memories about the good times spent in high skool. well, at least that's what it made me do. then the second one consists of another car driving through another town with a numerous allusions to marriage such as people dressed up and getting married =P this is accompanied by the famous wedding song "canon in d." so yeah, the quality of SOME recent commercials has improved and their strategy of using emotions/memories to their advantage is working. i mean, it's caught my attention and i now remember exactly what went on in the commercial. haha however, i don't remember which car it is they were trying to sell. all i remember is "saturn." hm so not completely fool-proof, but that's quite a good way to advertise.

song of the moment: rufio - "just a memory"
about time i started listening to some of my older cd's. listening to rufio always reminds me of san diego for some reason.

here's an interesting story about a man who couldn't get his car out of a parking space.

here's a screen capture that speaks for itself:

still need some feedback on the new background => *CLICK*. leave your thoughts in the guestbook, but if you're too lazy to click then the background looks like this:

found out about ratemyteacher.com today. this site is quite interesting. i went to check out how well some of my teacher's from corona were doing and as i guessed, all the ones who's class i enjoyed were doing well. however, the others just sucked. i finally got a chance to leave an opinion on mr. trudgen. my goodness, i did not like him. once he sent me to the office for wearing a shirt where a guy is holding up a cup of yellow colored liquid. he simply assumed that it was "beer" and promoted alcohol and sent me to the office. nowhere on the shirt did it even MENTION any thing remotely related to alcohol. this was just one of the many incidents that made me dislike him more and more. *grr* so if anyone ever gets him, switch out of his class. then i figured since ratemyteacher.com is for middle/high skool, then maybe ratemyprofessor.com would work for college. i typed it in and lo' and behold, it actually worked. i remember one comment left for my current math teacher. she's from eastern europe (i think), not sure which country though, but she's quite young. anyways, this guy leaves a comment that said, "She is hot, foreign and in my dreams every night." hahaha good stuff. anyways, the bad thing about it is that there are so many teachers at asu and only 199 of them were up for rating. oh well.

song of the moment: group x - "bang bang bang"
hahah that song = good times. i <3 that song.

need some opinions on a new background => *CLICK*. got it from an ataris cd cover. what's kind of a nice effect (or annoyance, depending on how you look at it) is how the color changes from white to blue from bottom to top so as you scroll up it's as if the words kinda just appear out of nowhere. lemme know what you think by leaving your opinion in the guestbook. thanks.

'samba de amigo' guy - here's a fun link jamie left me in my guestbook. the game he's play is called 'samba de amigo.' it's like ddr for maracas. yeah, pretty "flamboyant" idea, huh? well if you think that's flaming, then watch the guy in the video.

some nice hid's on a 240 (sadly, not mine's):

song of the moment: adam sandler - "piece of sh*t car"
yep, that would describe my car.

03.05.03 / 3:09 pm
just got into work less than an hour ago. man, the ataris show was great. mostly free, but great as well. i missed english and math in the process, but it's a small price to pay for a free show.....wait...what a funny oxymoron-ish thing. anyways, the show was on hayden lawn about a quarter after 12. went on for about an hour. about half the songs they played were off their new album that just came out yesterday and as usual they ended it with their traditional closing song. what's neat about it is that they get fans from the crowd to play the guitar for them during it. it's good times. overall, it was a pretty big show. i saw ppl i hadn't seen in quite a while and a couple ppl who *ahem* should've been back at their OWN skool aka mr. wong & mr. tsao. after the show, there was a huge line to meet the ataris and get stuff signed by them. i tagged along with brandon and herbie's entourage and we all waited in the blistering heat. we originally were in the back of a line that stretched the entire length of hayden lawn. however, thanks to one of their friends being up in the front we got to sneak in up there. turns out that friend is ms. teen arizona which in turn caught the attention of one of the guys making a dvd documentary type thing for the ataris. yep, we got a little blurb in it where they yell 'the ataris rule.' i was in the back poking my head out, back and forth cuz everyone was in my way. ah...another 15 min of fame. just like when dan and me were on 'the craig kilborn show'....in the audience, but still the backs of our heads were on NATIONAL TV! WHOAAA! superstar! haha.

hot hot hot! a new ad on autotrader! it's a blue/green 1995 nissan 240sx se w/ 5-spd and only 66k mi! AI YAH! sadly, it's in tucson and i don't exactly have the $8,700 to cough up for it. i'll said it before and i'll say it again, being poor sux.

gas price watch - with gas prices being a tad bit on the expensive side, i'm sure this link would help everyone in their search for cheap gas. just put in your area code and you're given a list of gas prices within your area. you're welcome.

here's a funny, "heartwarming" picture:

song of the moment: the ataris - "in this diary"
and for old times sake, their new single.

03.04.03 / 2:39 pm
hey! the ataris are going to be playing at asu tomorrow! free show! wheeee! however, no clue what time it starts at, but it's gonna be at the hayden lawn. anyways, tonight i have to meet up with my partner in chinese for our skit on thursday. gheyness. that means i'll end up missing 'smallville.' *sigh* the sacrifices i make for skool. ~oi

ebaums world - got this from josh. great way to kill time. haha so funny. great flash cartoons such as => bang bang bang.

song of the moment: rufio - "in my eyes"
rufiooooo!

03.03.03 / 4:28 pm
today's date is quite interesting. all three's. how funny. anyways, had an alright weekend (as usual).

friday - was pretty busy at work, but only had an hour to finish it all since i'd go over my 40 hr limit if i worked any more. at the last minute, i get to make a delivery down to 27th street and washington. luckily, the 'delivery ppl' hadn't made their last delivery yet so i didn't have to do it. came home early and just played cs and stuff. that night i didn't go to abf, but instead went and saw 'cradle 2 the grave.' was supposed to go with david, but he got stuck out in mesa so dan and don came. ran into nico and sam before the movie. it's been a while since i've seen nico and sam. i <3 those kids. anyways, after the movie we went to the bethel house thing cuz bobby was there. apparently there was some high skool lock-in going on so dan and me felt quite out of place. thus, we forced bobby to leave with us. jon showed up and we all went to in-n-out for a bite to eat. we ended up talking about the most random stuff. it went from good movies to bruce lee and other random stuff.

saturday - woke up around 9 for some reason. i mean, i went to sleep at 2am the night before and i figured that i'd be able to sleep till about....at least 11am, but that didn't end up happening. so i got up and watched yu-gi-oh. then just played cs and did some chores till about 2, when i went to work out with brian. afterwards i went home and cleaned up, got online and looked for stuff to do that night. i tried finishing up 'pulp fiction', but kept going off and doing other stuff. later on i picked up caroline and went to the mall. met up with heidi and wandered around. bobby showed up a little later and we went to visit brian at his work, job, cart, whatever you call it. those disc gear things he was selling weren't too hot. after visiting brian, we went to see 'old skool.' dan was already there with don, josh, and *names of other kids* (i'm lazy). when the movie was over we all just went home. man, for the past couple saturdays i've been home pretty early, about 10-11. wow, i'm a good kid.

sunday - church as usual. the guest speaker was a funny man, but apparently the guy sitting behind me found him MUCH more funny as he laughed aloud and when i mean aloud i stress aLOUD. for sunday skool, pastor derek teaches our class now. it's an interesting change of pace i'd have to say. for lunch, we went to wendy's.....again *sigh* everyweek....anyways, after lunch bobby wanted to go to best buy so we all headed down there. at the cell phone display, one of the phones ACTUALLY worked so i tried calling maine (you know who you are). unfortunately, it only makes local calls so there just a mass onslaught of calling each other's cell phones to the point it got annoying. then we found the 'speaker' phone feature on the cell and we called it. as usual, we make it a point to make bobby embarassed so brian starts calling out bobby's name....very loudly. haha i love how bobby gets embarassed so easily. when we finished up at best buy, all of us went to target cuz bobby also wanted to get some 'haircutting' supplies of some sort. i got a white cherry icee which was yummy. then i filled up the cup with orange soda and added half-and-half to make dan's famous orangesicle/cream soda. mmm so next time you get soda, get orange and add lotsa half-and-half. it's good stuff. haha. everyone except bobby went back to my house and just chilled there for a while. i ended up playing zelda 64 and beating gannon cuz dan tried, but got sick of it and that left me wanting to see the ending again. so i beat it. not a very hard last boss. then around 6 we went to ra near amc 24 for annie's b-day thing. mmm 4 pieces of sushi for 9 dollars. i'm sucha baller. haha. good times and now i think we're going to cali for spring break. that should be fun.

saw a total of TWO movies. 'cradle 2 the grave' and 'old skool.' ~oi 'cradle 2 the grave' gets more and more disappointing the more i think about it. the good stuff: jet li beats up a lot of ppl, KELLY HU, black ppl ; bad stuff: dmx, extremely predictable movie. now it's not that i dislike dmx or anything, but his performance in the movie was less than spectacular. that little 'angels' prayer was pretty corny, at one point he ran up a wall and did a backflip, and as dan said, "it was just like a ruff ryders (music) video." pretty sad. "old skool" however was actually quite the entertaining movie. in fact, it's one of the better movies i've seen in a while. i'd definitely recommend seeing this movie. so in summary i'd like to give my own system of ratings:

cradle 2 the grave -
2/5 finger(s)

old skool -
4/5 finger (s)

song of the moment: sarina paris - "so i wait"
happy happy joy joy song

03.01.03 / 4:04 pm
wow it's march already. jeez...2 more weeks and spring break is here! yeah! it's the ONLY sort of vacation/holiday thing during second semester so i'm glad that it's coming up. sadly, the week before spring break all hell breaks loose, mid-terms. i better get crackin' since i haven't read my micro econ book since chapter 2 and we're supposed to be on chapter 8 by now. however, other than that i suppose all other classes are under control. i took a quiz in math on friday over that weeks hw and i feel i did ok as opposed to the last hw quiz. i guess it's cuz i actually did the hw BEFORE the quiz so that i understood what was on it. oh well, i guess i better start studying before i fall behind (if i'm not considered fallen behind and what not)

i just noticed that this is the first time that i've wrote in here on a saturday.

i was just catching up on the current strong bad emails on homestarrunner. hehe strong bad is so funny.
