OK, so the first and most frequently asked question by a Neopets player is "how do I get Neopoints (NP's)?"  Well there are several ways that you can get and earn np's.  Creating a User Account starts you off with 500 nps.  Creating a pet will earn you 50 nps.  Open a bank account at National Neopoian bank earns you 30 nps.  So automatically you start off with 580 nps which is enough to get you going!  Also, while you are first gathering np's you can use the soup kitchen (if you have under 1000 nps to feed your pets.)

First we will start off with how to get free nps.

Money Tree -  If you are quick enough, you can snag some np's anywhere from 1 nps to 500 nps and maybe more.  You can get items and food there as well.

Games -  You can make a lot of neopoints playing on the many free games on neopets.
KIKO MATCH - This is a very simple game and you can earn lots of np's.  The faster you are, the more you make.
Kacheek seek - This is also a very easy game.  Almost boring, but if you want np's you have to do what you can to get them.  You play hide and seek with your pet(s).  You can play with each of them.  This game is a bit time consuming, but worth the nps you will earn.  Every location earns you a different amount of nps depending on dificulty level.  **HINT if you dont know where to look, just click somewhere on the page and hit the tab key and it will show you the spots to check.
Cartoon Network- Very easy if you watch cartoon Network 24-7 like I do :) You can play the games as many times as you like, but you only earn neopoints up to 75 once a month.  But if you guess right on the first try, you get 100 nps and there are five games.  Check games page for the answers.
Faerie Crossword - If you are ready to test your neoknowledge you can do this.  You can win from 200 nps to 600 nps.  You can only receive prizes once per day and there is a new puzzle every day.  Chipeez lists the answers on the games page daily and there is also a directory.
SPONSORS - If you can, sign up with sponsors.  You can at least get 250 nps per sponsor.  Sometimes items as well.

NOW HOW TO KEEP AND EARN MORE NP"S

Bank Accounts - As soon as you can, start putting aside your neopoints in the bank. Once you reach 5,000 neopoints you start to gain interest.  And will earn even more neopoints just for leaving your money there.  Dont be so anxious to spend your nps.  You wont get far if you do this.  And dont forget to upgrade your account when you can cause you get more interest for upgrading accounts.

Running a shop - When you get enough np's, open a shop!  It will cost you 250 nps to open a shop.  Well worth the nps in the long run.  You want to sell low wholesale/high retail items and high demand items.  Take some time to research what those items are .  They change so you have to keep up on that.  My opinion is start with food and toys.  You can find food on shop wizard for 20 less points.  Buy it and sell at 30 nps.  This is 10 np profit.

When pricing your items USE THE SHOP WIZARD!!!  And search it several times by refreshing it .  Try to find out which list you are on and keep your prices no more then the second on the list.  If you wont take a huge loss by putting the price at the lowest...DO IT!  Being among the cheapest is the best way to be sure your shop will be successful.  If customers can count on you not to charge them an arm and a leg for things they know are not worth it, they will come back.

Best to keep your shop on the small size too.  Stocking a shop is very time consuming and so dont make your shop a size 140 unless you plan on keeping 700 items stocked at all times and most often then not, you wont use all that room and it is a waste of nps.

ANOTHER TIP FOR BUILDING YOUR NPS
After you finished playing games and earning nps for the day, deposit half of what you have earned that day.  And use the rest to spend on food or other items.  Doing this ensures that you keep building nps.  Also I have found that if I dont use the points I earned by playing games and just deposit it and use my shop till to restock my shop.  That way you lose nothing.

I HAVE FOUND THAT IF YOU PLAY ALL THE GAMES AS MANY TIMES AS YOU CAN YOU CAN EASILY WALK AWAY FROM THE GAMES ROOM WITH AROUND 7,000 A DAY!
