USS Ticonderoga

History

The USS TICONDEROGA bears a very proud name The first ship ever named Ticonderoga (1814-1825) was a 17-gun schooner of Commodore MacDonough's Flagship in the Battle of Lake Champlain on Sep. 11, 1814. The ship eventually sank in a storm of the coast of New England.

The second ship ever named Ticonderoga (1863-1881) was a steam sloop-of-war which served distiction during the War between the States. The ship hit a reef of the Eastern Seaboard of the United States and sank in 1881.

The third ship ever named Ticonderoga (1944-1973) was an aircraft carrier that served in WWII and the Vietnam War in which it earned 17 Battle Stars. The ship was decomissioned to make way for newer, nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.

The fourth ship ever named Ticonderoga (1980-1997) was a guided missle cruiser (CG-47). She was the first in her class, and was a leader in technology until she was destroyed in the Eugenics War, while escorting the carrier USS Enterprise

The first Starship Ticonderoga belongs to Bravo Fleet, in Task Force 72. She has participated in many missions which are crutial to Bravo Fleet, and the rest of Star Fleet, and has proven herself to be a sturdy vessel with a capable crew. With up technology and weapons, her life is long from over.
