NEWS OF BOOKS
SELL-OUT BY AUTHOR

The English Department's Whores was the star of a recent book-signing at the Bedford pub, Horsham, Sussex. Thanks to some judicious publicity in the local press, the book was a sell-out success and the author had to be scraped off the floor at the end of the evening. Well done, loyal people of Horsham.
NICE REVIEW in BELLY TELLY

Top Northern Ireland Journalist Malachi O'Doherty gave Arson About a rave review in the Belfast Telegraph. Identifying it as part of a cultural revival, and describing it as one of the bawdiest and most lecherous pieces of writing he'd come across (he must be a very good Catholic boy if this is the case) Mr O'Doherty sees the book as one of the school of young Northern Irish fiction pieces. Good on him.

Author addresses Rotary

Douglas Maddon recently addressed the Horsham Rotary Club, wittering on at great length about books and so forth. They chaps were very nice and laughed occasionally, clapping at the end and making the author feel better about himself.
