Eastern Allegheny Railroad
The HO Scale Eastern Allegheny RR, located near Newark DE in a 30' by 60' basement, is actually two railroads. One is the Western Maryland around the time it was absorbed into the Chessie System.  The second is the modern day CSX.

Most of the Western Maryland is represented.  Following from East to West, there is staging for both Rutherford (RDG) and Port Covington.  These lines join and enter the scenicked portion of the railroad at Hagerstown with a class yard, engine facilities and a connection to the N&W.

Continuing west, the WM joins the B&O main at Cherry Run for its run over the B&O (CSX) to Williams St. in Cumberland. After leaving the B&O, the line continues west to either Connellsville or into Ridgeley Yard and on to Elkins.

While the WM is point to point, the CSX is actually one large double track circle. The modeled portion is roughly the old East End of the Cumberland Division, running from Brunswick to Cumberland.

The connecting tracks west of Cumberland and east of Brunswick are largely hidden and are used to stage the CSX trains.

Most of the CSX  classification work is done at Cumberland while Brunswick only hosts a local and unit coal trains.

Originally, I operated one large RR during the early 70's but I couldn't resist the modern cars and those wide cabs.  Now operators have their choice of fast intermodal trains without cabins or lots of red and brown box cars with roofwalks.
