Discover the Copper State Webquest
Introduction
You have the responsibility to introduce the state of Arizona to students from
around the country. Consider the following areas in your presentation:
environment, animals, plants, history, people, counties, Indian tribes, tourist
attractions, etc. . . Put the following pieces together into a PowerPoint
Presentation.
Tasks
- Identify 10 animals that you would find in Arizona.
- Compare weather in Arizona with another state of your choice.
- Write a few sentences about pollution in Arizona and one thing you can do
to solve the problem.
- Write a schedule of places to visit in one day with a friend visiting from
out-of-state.
- Identify a Native American Indian Tribe and tell 3 facts about them most
interesting to you.
- Draw a picture of an Arizona desert and label at least 5 different plants
in your drawing.
- List the major events leading to Arizona Statehood. (what is the date and
year of State hood? -- hint Valentine's Day)
- Find a famous person in Arizona History and write 3 questions that you
would like to ask that person.

Process
1. Locate the answers to each of the 8 tasks listed above.
2. Organize and develop a PowerPoint presentation to introduce the
state of Arizona to other students around the country. This presentation
should be at least 10 slides. One slide can be the title page (with
picture), and one at the end can be a credits and bibliography page (Where did
you get the information from?). Pictures should be on every slide.
3. Present to the class your presentation while telling about Arizona,
and post your slide show to the classroom website for others to view.
