Downtown
Dayton is currently enjoying a rebirth with many projects
happening. Completed is Fifth Third Field, an 8,000 seat
stadium home to the home of the Dayton Dragons Class A Pro
baseball team. Phase 1 of the Riverscape Project featuring
5 giant fountains shooting water 200 ft over the Great
Miami River is complete. The Ice Avenue Lofts are
completed and bringing downtown living to new standards.
RTA has just finished renovating the 15 story American
Building for it's downtown hub.
Construction
is under way for the $125 million Schuster Performing Arts
Center which will feature a glass atrium wall and an 18
story office tower. Phase 2 is under way. Phase 3 will be
completed by 2004. Relizon Wireless Headquarters is
currently under construction and bringing more than 500
jobs downtown. Demolition is nearing for the Lazurus
Parking facility to make way for a new, bigger and better
one. A parking addition is currently under progress for
the Reibold Building. Last, but not least, Elder-Beerman,
a landmark downtown, will undergo an extensive 16 million
renovation to make way for Reynolds and Reynolds to bring
300 new jobs downtown. |
