The
25th day of April is an anniversary date
That
we solemnly remember each year.
We
remember brave young men and women
Who
gave their lives so we can have freedom.
"Lest
We Forget" are words that are
Impressed on our hearts as we remember
The
sacrifice they made.
They
bravely left their homeland to do their
duty,
Not
only for their country but loved ones as
well.
They
went against impossible odds,
With
hope in their hearts and many
Lost
their lives on some foreign shore.
We
gather each Anzac Day to remember
And
we will keep on remembering.
They
inspire us as they knew the true meaning
Of
comradeship, tolerance and decency.
ANZAC
-- The Australian and New Zealand Army
Corp.
We
will remember.
They
shall grow not old
As we
that are left grow old.
Age
shall not weary them
Nor
the years condemn.
At
the going down of the sun
And
in the morning
We
shall remember them.
ANZAC
by Bartlett Adamson
By
purple hills and opalescent sea
And
sunlit leagues of plain they lived, and
they
Were
summery-hearted all, and life was gay,
And
peace was theirs, and love and liberty.
And
when the clarion sounded suddenly,
They
went, a rollicking band of boys at play
Tilted at doom, and there, at Anzac Bay
Died........but they taught the world what men they
be.
And
Anzac now is an enchanted shore;
A
tragic splendor, and a holy name;
A
deed eternity will still acclaim;
A
loss that crowns the victories of yore;
A
glittering golden dome for evermore
Shining above the minarets of fame.
How
could we ever forget.
We
Will Remember Them.

THE ANZAC MEMORIAL
Those heroes that shed their blood And lost their lives...
You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country.
Therefore, rest in peace.
There is no difference between the Johnnies
And the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side,
Here in this country of ours.
You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away
countries...
Wipe away your tears.
Your sons are now lying in our bosom And are in peace.
After having lost their lives on this land, they have
Become our sons as well.
