Well it’s that time of year again,
When I head South from the Pole,
Where I’ve spent all of last year,
In a place that is so cold.

Now all you who live in the North,
Might think that the cold is norm,
But let me tell you that I first must go,
To Down Under where it’s warm.

For it’s the middle of their summer,
And the temperature does soar,
The further that I travel South,
It gets hotter more and more.

So I think it’s time to change my look,
For there’s none that do see me,
Stop my sleigh and reindeer for a moment,
Beneath a eucalyptus tree.

Get rid of these big black boots,
And red suit that feels so wrong,
Change into a pair of board shorts,
And good old Aussie thongs.

I might no longer look like Santa,
But I can still be me,
And leave gifts for all the children,
Where in Australia they might be.

So that morning when they waken,
They will find that I have been,
But the way that I was dressed,
Is one thing they won’t have seen.

Now my trip to Oz is over,
And I turn around my sleigh,
Change back into my red suit,
Then I’m off along my way.

For people the world over,
Think I always wear red suits,
But when I go Down Under I wear board shorts,
And thongs instead of boots.

Now that I have told you,
I guess you will say “What?”
But let me tell you Christmas in Australia,
Is really so dammed hot.

"Thongs" are worn on the feet.
The Aussie Thong, is generally made of rubber
and is basically a sole with two straps over the top of the foot.

I wish you all a very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year.

We saw his star in the east
And have come to worship him.

I hope you see His star and worship Him forever.
