 DESERT SONG

Wandering the desert,

a caravan of one.

Slipping through the shadows,

hiding from the moon.

Distant song and silver laughter,

near yet far

beyond the dunes.

Sand in shifting patterns

lied 'bout where it led.

Mocking with mirages -

footprints of the dead.

Distant song and silver laughter,

near yet far

beyond the dunes.

Searching for oasis,

parched for its cool kiss.

Shrouded in my veil of pride

on to the abyss.

Distant song and silver laughter,

near yet far

beyond the dunes.
