RTFIT 8: (30/5/2002)- Let me tell you what I had for dinner today. My rice-cooker broke down (Oh no!!) so I had to look for an alternatve to my usual rice dinner. So instead, I had...OATMEAL. Yep. One large plate of oatmeal, and baby carrots, and I shall have a cantalope for desert...and probably ice-cream. That's probably the weirdest dinner I've had since I left home. Anyway, just thought I'd share... |

RTFIT 9: (1/6/2002)- It's my birthday today. No more big secret. I spent Friday and most of Saturday with my friends, so that was cool. For my birthday, Karen got me...liquor. Of all things that I would think she'd come up with...hahaha...It's all good. She made a good choice :o) . I also watched my friend Jisan grade for her 2nd degree black belt in Shoot Wrestling, and woohoo! She made it. Congrats girl, you rock! I'll get pics of that up on my site once I get them developed. I have much to say about this cousin of mine! Not only does she not get me a present for my birthday, the girl got me a PINK, STRAWBERRY ice-cream cake. Now ladies and gentlemen, I happen to be ALLERGIC to anything pink (except the singer). She basically picked out the sort of cake SHE wanted to have! So my only consolation was that she didn't sing "Happy Birthday". Nothing else could give me as many goosebumps...*shiver* To all of you who wished me a HB and/or called (or tried to, I missed 5 calls today), and/or gave me a card or present. Thank you. To ALL of my friends, wherever you are, thank you for helping me become the person I am today: crazy, insane, weird, moody, and prone to depression...just kidding ;oP . Hahaha. But thank you all wherever you are, I know I've truly been blessed to be able to count on your advice, support and friendship. I really am who I am in large part, thanks to all of you... |
RTFIT 18: (18/7/2002)- I wonder what it would be like to be the sun...the centre of our galaxy...Sitting up there, watching the planets rotate...I sort of picture it like a huge baby, just existing there, with a crib mobile of all the planets (you know, those frames with toys at the end of the arms that parents hang over their baby's crib). The planets must be nothing more than something the sun can stare at... => Not enough sleep, I'm starting to ramble again... |
RTFIT 22: (2/8/2002)- I survived my Calc exam!!! Woohoo!!! I'm still reeling from it though, it didn't go very well... :o( But at least it's over and done...Next...GENETICS. It's awful, I've been going over the chapters on DNA and my brain feels like a tangle of chromatin in the Telophase stage of Mitosis. Can you tell I've been studying a lot? Maybe even too much? I still spent just about every waking hour at DC...It's 7:30pm on a Friday night and I'm STILL here. Even I didn't know how hardcore I could get. And it's certainly freaking me out to have become such a nerd. Teehee. No offense to any nerds out there ;o) So yeah, library's half empty, and dead quiet, so I figured it would be a good idea to stick around...and work...or edit my homepage, as I'm doing now. Come on, I really need a break! A week from now I should be on a plane, if now already in Mauritius. I can't wait. Really. I haven't been back since December and that's too long. Besides, all my other friends are partying and I'm still making out with the books. Pfff!!! |
RTFIT 26: (12/9/2002)- Today in Bio 130 (Intro to Cell and Molecular Bio) my prof, Dr. Neils Bols, was showing us all the stats from the 1998 Bio 130 class, on the overhead projector. And he was saying how the usual person takes the course twice before passing it...! How reassuring! But then he banged his fist onto the projector and said "But don't worry! Your parents love you, your friends love you...and by golly, I love you too!" What a funny guy. He's so enthusiatic about what he does, and that's really really unusual. Especially at MY univeristy... |
RTFIT 34: (17/10/2002)- I had 2 midterms today: Psych 257 (Psychopathology) and Biol 130 (Intro to Cell and Molecular Bio). Psych went ok, but Bio was awful. Terrible. Besides, I only got 4 hours of sleep. Not good... I was so stressed out and tired and whatnot that I had the funniest, stupid thought, today. I walked into my Psych class for the midterm, sat in the lecture hall, and for a fraction of a second, thought "Where's the seatbelt?" I kid you not, I honestly was totally bewildered for a while, there...Funny how stupid tiredness can make you, hmm? |
RTFIT 42: (18/11/2002)- YAY!!! I had my last cat lab tonight! Norm, our cat, was particularly stinky today...must have something to do with the fact that we've been working on him every week for the entire term. "Ewwwww!!!" Yeah, I hear you... Anyway, we were doing the urinary and reproductive system today. So, you know what we were looking at... I gotta admit though, for a good half hour, my lab partners and I were seriously wondering whether Norm was actually a Norma. It took us so long to locate his little thingy...And little it was...He must have been extremely self-conscious, as a cat, in his previous life. But that was ok, we told him "Don't worry Norm, we love you just the way you are"...Funny what those formaldehyde fumes will make you say...?! |
RTFIT 45: (2/12/2002)- Isn't it awful the way someone you know has to die to make you become aware of your own mortality? We go to bed every night just assuming that we will wake up tomorrow and it will just be another day. We assume that all the people who matter to us will still be there. Then some day someone close to us, or close to a friend, dies, and the news leaves us feeling weak, powerless and depressed. One of the girls who went to my high school passed away in a car accident yesterday. She was only in Form 2 when I was in my graduating year, but I still knew of her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends...And also to the driver of the car that made the accident, who is recovering... |
