KURUPT (Not written by me)
Kurupt was born in Philadelphia
as Ricardo Brown As a teen was sent to live with his father
in Hawthorne, CA. Kurupt later moved to South Central Los Angeles and
hooked up with Snoop Dogg. He signed with Death Row Records, and dropped
lyrics on Dr. Dre's The Chronic and Snoop's Doggystyle. In 1994 he
teamed with Daz Dillinger in forming tha Dogg Pound, with their first
release, Dogg Food, coming in 1995. The album went platinum, and Kurupt
joined forces with Joe Marrone to create the ANTRA label in a joint
venture deal with A&M records. The label's first release was the
double CD Kuruption, the debut solo album from Kurupt which was divided
into an East Coast disc and a West Coast disc. In 1999 he released Tha
Streetz Iz A Mutha featuring such heavy hitters as Daz, Dr. Dre, Nate
Dogg, Soopafly, and Xzibit. His latest single, "Story to
Tell," has received praise and major airplay.
