David Plekan has been professionally training for over nine years and has also been a clinician for the past four. He had been the resident trainer at Diamond L Guest Ranch in Hulett, Wyoming prior to creating his own training center. David is a Christian man with a deep love and respect for equine. He attended Lakeshore Technical College where he studied Equestrian Science along with Farriery. David has attended seminars and studied the techniques of John Lyons, Richard Shrake and Pat Parrelli along with the language of equus as presented by Monty Roberts. |
David strongly believes that all horses have the desire to please and will willingly work as a team with their human companions given the right training and opportunity. Just as importantly, is David's belief that there is no room for force in training and handling horses. The human must be in control and at the top of the pecking order, but not through brute force or intimidation. People should be educated in "horse language" so that they will recognize what their horse is signalling, and patience must be paramount. |

David has a special affinity with horses. He seems to have a calming affect on them and they will seek out his company. The horse in this photograph is wild and freely followed him on the prairie while he was videotaping footage of wild horses. |
