DINOSAUR There was a dinosaur, that lived in me. A dinosaur undiscovered unproven unseen yet I know it lived, don't I? But somewhere along that dinosaur was lost As I appeared and I conquered I forgot that it had ever lived, didn't I? Now I rustle back into yellowed pages and smudged inks and look frantically can it be revived...or is it extinct? |

It started from the rocky top and plunged down the hill falling falling falling gushing past the bushes clinking over the shapely pebbles chiseling, honing, hurting sweeping it all in a torrent purging the very earth clean sometimes chirping decidedly sometimes blowing noisily And when it hit the bottom an emmense calm descended the beating of the waters slowed onwards the river flowed as if in a slow motion trying to capture time stretching seconds into aeons placidly in its ecstasy cutting deep and carving painful beautiful basins Then it became a landscape a rendezvous for lovers flooding its joy to others irrigating its banks fertile nurturing its own offshoots and furtively sometimes remembering its own youth meandering and dancing its way in melodious delight Now taking all the grime all absorbing and kind its effusive smile opening into an expansive mouth happily embracing and entering the ocean-vast nothingness smug in loosing its identity with the karmic whole evaporating together waiting for its next role -Pooja Chopra |
