1963 Aluminum engine long block
Oil side of engine
This is the oil side of the engine [right side].
The full flow filter and external oil pump is mounted on this side of the engine.
The Aluminum six was the first Rambler engine to receive a full flow oil filter - in the past a by-pass filter was an option on both the 195.6 Flat Head [Flying Scot] and OHV engines.
The distributor is driven off the same gear on the camshaft as the oil pump.
