1963 Aluminum engine long block
Cylinder head
Unlike the die cast aluminum block, the cylinder head is made of cast iron.
Note that there is one intake from the main plenum for each cylinder.
The exhaust ports, however, are twinned up.
The intake manifold is partially cast into the head, with an aluminum cover that supports the carbs.
The head bolts must be removed to change the intake manifold cover. Offenhauser offered a dual carb set up for these engines.
