You decide to visit Calentar. The path indicated leads far out into the Fire Realm, and, taking a deep breath, you begin to walk it.
Soon, it gets so hot that you begin to feel slightly warm under your suit. You pull at the hood in an instinctual attempt to cool yourself off, and you are met with such a violent blast of heat that you practically fall over! Shuddering, you rise and, after a moment's deliberation, keep going.
After a few more minutes, you come to an above-ground cave. The entire rock is covered in lava, which is dripping down from the top of the large entry hole. The cave looks as though it had been sculpted in haste, since the rim of the entry hole is slightly jagged. Gulping, you walk through and into the cave.
At first, it is so dark that you can't see a thing. Then, as your eyes get accustomed to the light, you become aware of another presence. Stepping into the light shed from the entry hole, you are met with a stunning creature.
The glistening red creature's head comes up to your waist. It hopps curiously forward on its magnificent back legs, and sniffs your hand. Then, it speaks.
"I am Calentar," it says in a higher-pitched, chirping voice. "I was adopted from Kryel by Amaryllis before we Kajis moved to Zykiox. Who are you, a tourist?"
"Well, yes," you reply, looking at Calentar with interest. "How can you stand this heat?"
"I'm a magma type," Calentar explains, cocking his head. "It's a derivitive of earth and fire, so I have the powers of both. I can stand extreme heat like this with ease." Indeed, there's a heavy sheen of sweat on Calentar's body, which you assume is keeping him cool.
You, on the other hand, are beginning to feel very hot. "I should go before I have heat stroke," you say jokingly, though it could happen. "Nice to meet you, Calentar! Goodbye!"
"Bye!" Calentar calls as you walk back to the signpost.
