Golden Heart

A fire portal loomed close to you. Bordered by outraging flames of different shades of oranges and red. It crackles loudly that echoes throughout your ears and through your mind. Sweat beads begin to appear on your forehead and trickled slowly down your neck. Why were you brought here? Looking at the ominious portal, you step away to rid of the heat that was overtaking you. This proves to be too late because flames licked your body and soon pulls you in. You struggled against its grasps and about to release a scream but only a muffled shout could be heard as a flame covers your mouth. Fortunately, the flames did not scorch your skin or your flesh. Soon you were pulled into a pool of darkness and something hit the back of your head. Darkness grows at the edges of your vision and soon became complete darkness and you grew unconsious.

Soon the darkness fades and brings you back to your normal vision. Things soon became clear where you were and you wished you were still resting. Fire pits of lava bubbled and geysers explodes all around you. Molten rocks showered around you but you were protected by a green shield. Rocks that was meant to hit you only hissed against the shield which send ripples on the surface. Standing up, you was brought back down and a hiss whispers in your ear.
"I suggest you stay down."
A drop of saliva soaks through your shirt and the touch your skin. Its touch burns your skin and send a wave of fire through your arm. You have not seen the appearance of the creature that held you down but you abide his order.

A sound vibrates the cavern and it draws your attention to a lava pool. Ripples upon ripples seeks the surface before a head breaks through. Fire glints in his eyes and smoke fumed out of his nostrils. What was this creature? Backing up, you knew that this fire creature was coming to you but the legs of the creature behind you stopped you from moving forth more. Lowering its head, it glares at you with blood shot eyes that stares down you. Its looks were lifeless and looked as if it sees right through your mind and read ever thought that crossed it. Licking its muzzle, it snaps at you but meerely missed the chance of losing your head. More drops of saliva drips on your face and singes your skin. Closing your eyes, you did not notice the prescence of the dragon that passes through the fire. A roar echoes through the cavern that showers dust over the shield. Opening your eyes with fright, you stare into the orange orbs of the Fire dragon.
"What brings you here? You know that your human body cannot with stand the fiery flames of this volcano."
The creature hisses behind you and exits the sheild that held you. Now you see the clear details of the creature and you gasp. It features were deadly. A stinger was on his tail while his eyes glowed with hate. Vivid spike peaks through his obsidian hide which blended in with the orange background of heated rock.
"I-I have no id-ea..."
"I pulled you in you beef brain! You was intruding the very territory of a Fire dragon." yelled the creature.
"But still--how did I--"
"If you were wondering how you pass through that fire portal--"
A paw covers the creatures mouth and smiles, revealing a set of fangs and rows of teeth.
"Don't mind Kyruka. He is the guardian of my realm where I rule among the volcano in which you are in."
The dragon releases Kyruka's mouth and looks at you with curious eyes.
"My name is Golden Heart, son of Piercing Heart and Flaming Kimono and a Fire dragon and you don't belong here. But the question that you want answer lies before you. I brought you here."
"You did?!" you and Kyruka cried in unison.
The Fire dragon looks at the both of you with a look of distaste. He whips his tail and shatters a boulder.
"But Golden Heart, I thought your bondmate brought that...thing here. She always bringing guests into Syron."
"I wanted this here human to see something."
Golden Heart picks you up by the shirt and takes you to the opposite wall. Something glimmers a bright pink, something that looks different from this fire cavern. You looked at it and read it aloud.
"Golden Heart is bonded to Merita. Who is Merita?"
The Fire sighs and nearly dropped you on the floor but saves you with the tip of his talon. His eyes doesn't leave the plaque nor the name Merita that was upon it.
"I was finally an adult and wanted to live with a dragon for the rest of my life. That is when I came across a beautiful red dragon named Merita. A Fire like myself. Everything turned on the brighter side for me when I bonded with her. As weeks past, she was gravid. At first, I was surprised and happy that a family of my own can start. Strange how my father and mother had a clutch of Fire and now having a Fire clutch of my own. Maybe my children can continue to live that. Who knows. My children are in the other caves of their own."
You dangled there as you listened to the story that Golden Heart told. You didn't know that this fierce dragon was actually soft in the inside. Looking at the floor below, you decided that maybe it was time to leave. For one reason was the heat has grown and shirt begins to soak with sweat. The Fire dragon saw this and summons a portal.
"Now leave before I make you dinner."
With a flick of his paw, he throws you into the fire portal that rages before the dragon and soon was engulfed in darkness.
