Celtic Tattoos and Body Art
      And
  The History
In early celtic times, the people would paint themselves in preperation for battle. Some painted just their faces while others have been known to have painted their intire bodies in bright colors.

Tattooing didn't truely come until later when men decided to use symbols for their Family markings (Tribel Marks).

Later in history, the women began tattooing arm bands instead of wearing metal or leather ones.

Today, Tattoos have become a great part of many peoples lives as a way to express themselves or as a form of Art.
Many people have even started designing their own as well as finding some of the Old Markings and bringing them back into todays world. It has gotten so that most people will find a Celtic Knot or symbol and use that as well.
There are many great Artists out there as well as many wonderful Celtic Tattoos. Remember to always look for a person or Tattoo Parlor that can be trusted with your works or skin. The Art is only as good as the person doing the tattoo.
