I browse the daily Apple-related news via Ric Ford's Macintouch home page, and the MacNN news page. I also watch for software news at the Macintosh Resource Page (MRP). I also subscribe to Macworld (aka MacUser) magazine, which also has articles, reviews and software.

Drop by Apple Headquarters, and see what is going on there.

This is a personally pruned list of the places I tend to check from time to time, mostly because I own products or like the site's offerings.

Version Tracker tracks the latest versions of lots of software with links to updates.
MacDirectory is a large site with news, shareware, job opportunities, etc.
Nathans' Everything Macintosh - Huge jumping-off point for links of information on the Macintosh.
Jayfar's *Original* Virtual Macintosh - Interesting Finder-like web front end for cool shareware.

FWB hard disk driver company makes Hard Disk Toolkit and CD-ROM toolkit for non-standard disks and CD-ROM drives.
The Chip Merchant is a local (San Diego) company that has great prices on RAM and wonderful service.
Connectix cool little QuickCam (inexpensive video camera), and "Mode32" software which has allowed me to keep up with Apple System software 7.5.5 and run with 20 MB of RAM in my 10 year old Mac II!
Daystar - I long ago bought a 33 MHZ 68030 CPU upgrade for that same old Mac II... it installed easily and is still working beautifully.
Sonic Systems - Makes some very nice competitively priced ethernet cards.
Hewlett Packard Support Center HP Deskwriter printer software updates.
MacConnection, not exactly a peripheral company, this is a Mac/PC mail-order house that I've always been very pleased with.

The biggest collection of Mac freeware and shareware is on Pacific HiTech's Info-Mac internet archives.
During the overloaded day in the USA, I tend to browse the Japanese mirror of Info-Mac.

Claris - Can't forget Claris, ClarisWorks is a nice well-integrated works package, e-Mailer is great, Claris Home page is a pleasure to use, and they made good on their promise to this StarMax owner, and sold me the Mac OS 7.6 update for $10! :-)

Metrowerks CodeWarrior - Great development environment, good enough to pull me away from my old buddy, MPW
Celestin's Apprentice CD-ROM - Wonderful inexpensive CD-ROM series full of all sorts of Macintosh source code examples (POV-Ray and MooVer featured on past issues)
mac-faq - Giant Q&A information on programming the Mac.
MacTech Magazine - a great Mac programmer's magazine & on-line resource
