Relevant Working Experience

 

19 Feb. 2001- ongoing                             Public Information Consultant at the Preparatory Commission for the  Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO); conceptualizing, coordinating and preparing the first issue of CTBTO Spectrum, the new public newsletter of the organization; responsibilities included drafting and editing of articles, liaising with in-house and external technical experts and printers, developing of distribution lists, supervising the work of the newsletter assistant and graphic designer, and editorial planning for the next issue. Other tasks encompassed drafting, editing and proof reading of the CTBTO corporate identity style manual (160 pages); providing input to the CTBTO public information strategy; drafting press releases and feature articles for the public web site; conceptualizing, drafting and coordinating of other public relation material, including a comprehensive press kit and an information leaflet for an international States conference at UN Headquarters.

 

Feb. 2000 - 16 Feb. 2001                         Business Consultant in the private sector, developing concepts of financial sales management, designing public relations activities and assisting in customer acquisition.

 

Oct. 1998  - May 1999                             Programme Manager for Phare Drugs Programme of the European Union covering 13 countries in Eastern and Central Europe with a total budget of 21 million Euro; responsibilities included financial and personnel management of the Programme Co-ordination Unit in Riga (Latvia); elaboration of various reports; monitoring of multi-country projects and preparation of new Programme activities; production and dissemination of a newsletter, and regular up-dating of the public web site; assisting the European Commission (EC) in the fields of policy planning and strategy development; networking with partner countries of the Programme and relevant international bodies, preparation of and participation in international meetings and conferences at the EC in Brussels.

 

July 1998 - Oct. 1998                               Research Consultant, researching and conceptualizing a European comparative study on the use of analgesics for  the Council of Europe (Pompidou Group).
