Trauma and Emergency Surgery
After becoming a specialist in general surgery in 1988, he become a fellow in Istanbul Medicine Faculty, Department of Trauma and Emergency Surgery. He has been an associate professor of general surgery in 1993. He had the responsibility as general secretary Turkish Trauma and Emergency Surgical Congress in 1995 and 1997. He has been an assistant editor of "Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery" which is published quarterly. At the same time; he is the head of National Trauma and Emergency Surgical Association.
National Trauma and Emergency Surgical Association prepares trauma and resuscitation courses (TRK) for physicians with cooperation of Istanbul Medicine Faculty, Department of Trauma and Emergency Surgery.

His View About Trauma and
Emergency Surgery
Because of rapid increasing population and urbanization, traffic accident, wound and terror have increased day by day. Because of this reason, necessary importance and attention should be given to trauma and surgical emergency organization. Especially, patients who have multi-trauma are controlled by one specialist (who are specialist only area about the body) and other specialist be only consultants in this condition. So, patients who are not controlled as a whole can be exposed to mortality and morbidity. Therefore, the first thing which should be done is training trauma and emergency surgery specialists in Turkey. In countries, like USA, which have more trauma events, trauma and emergency surgical is a upper specialty after general surgery. This should be constituted in Turkey immediately. Hence; examination of this kind of patients, organization can be done more consciously by this specialists.
