How You Can Help

To make this trip a success much needed medical supplies must be purchased. All donations will be used to buy medicine to treat the children at the Little Brothers, Little Sisters Orphanage and several community clinics in Honduras. You can help achieve the goal of $10,000.

1. Direct Contribution ~ Medications will be purchased from MAP International, a non-profit organization that recieves supplies from pharmaceutical companies. MAP International only charges storage fees, which allows groups like this to buy supplies at a very low price. $300 will purchase $5,000 worth of medications. 

If you would like to make a cash contribution, please make a check payable to MCV Honduras Trip and sent it to either Deb Koehn, 7037 Snowshed Lane, Mechanicsville, VA 23111 or, School of Medicine, Medical College of Virginia Campus, Virginia Commonwealth University, P.O. Box 980565, Richmond, VA 23298-0565 (Attention: MCV HONDURAS TRIP). Please send your contributions by May 31, 2000.

2. Wireless Promotion ~ Joanne Ziegler-Crawford (an agent with WI) and Wireless Innovations are donating $20 for every new wireless activation. Wireless Innovations is an authorized agent for GTE Wireless. Go to the Wireless Innovations Web site to view the incredible offers, or simply call Joanne at 837-3115 for more information. Tell her that you want to take advantage of the Honduras Wireless Special! 

Get new digital phones, free accessories, upgrade from analog to digital and have $20 for every new activation donated to the Medical Relief Trip to Honduras! Don't forget to tell your friends!

3. PayPal ~PayPal is a free person-to-person payment service that makes Sending Money as easy as sending email. Take a couple of minutes and register at PayPal. Why? Good question! For every person that completes a PayPal's registration, PayPal will put $5 in the MCV Honduras bank account. But wait, there's more! PayPal will also put $5 in an account for you. Please use mcvhondurastrip@excite.com as the e-mail of the person who referred you to the site.  (For simple directions on how to register click here.) 

This is free money! The best kind. Please take a few minutes and register now! Please also feel free to send an email to your friends and ask them to register. Make sure they register through this Web site.  And if you are feeling extra generous you can also make a contribution after you register.  It's as easy as sending an e-mail. 

4. Dance For Honduras ~ If you live in Richmond and are in town during the month of May, the MCV students will be holding several Salsa Workshops at the local area clubs, bars, and restaurants. 

The workshops will be taught by several dance instructors and will focus on the basics of different styles of Salsa. Please come out to have a good time and support the trip to Honduras. All proceeds from these events will go toward the purchase of medications. Don't forget to tell your friends!

5. Spread the Word ~ And finally, one of the best ways you can help us is to spread the word about the medical Relief Trip to Honduras. If you have a Web site, please feel free to put a link to this site; ask people at your office if they would like to register for PayPal, send a donation, or both; buy a cell phone, or upgrade from analog to digital; write an article to the local newspaper.
