The Orange Curtain
by me: Robert Hu
I see my shadow on this wall
It's too late for you to call
If there was something I could do
I'd do it now to be with you

The streets outside just fill with noise
The disguised cries of pain and woe
Tryin' to make something out of nothing
Before they get dragged way down below

You know you're my angel muse
Girls like Myrna, they just fake it all
She'll act like I'm invisible
Then go home and bawl

But you hide behind an orange curtain
Where you throw off all your masks
I just want to know for certain
What it is that makes you sad

When I saw you there last night,
I pretended not to care
Resolved to hide my fears
'Til I sensed you truly near

Then when I felt your soft caress
On the innocence of my wrist,
I could forget I'm such a mess,
Feel for once that I exist

I know that when you smile
And say you've reached your goal,
That that ain't all there is
To what moves inside your soul

You're naked behind an orange curtain
Where you throw down all your masks
I just want to know for certain
What it is that makes you sad
