Alain Deveraux
Fata Arcana
The best way to describe Alain is delicate. He stands no taller than 5'8". His frame is fit but thin, even frail. He might be 20 years old, but the almost femine quality of his looks makes it difficult to judge. A lock of blond hair almost constantly falls into his large brown eyes, which sometimes betray a soul which has seen more than anyone his age should have.

Alain was created for the game
Cairo: Howard Carter (CHC) on CompuServe. It was run by Chris Gavin, and unfortunately lasted only a few months. Now Alain has found a home in Fata Arcana (FAR) on the Dreamlyrics site, which is proving to be quite a confusing experience for him. I saved the CHC files, and am posting them here for anyone interested in reading them.

The CHC files are from my portion of the game run by Chris Gavin. They were originally written in the standard role-playing format for the forum -- Chris would write something and I would respond to it. I've tried to put the files here into more of a standard literary format, but it wasn't always possible to make it as smooth as I'd like. So please forgive the flaws; there was only so much I could do!

The subject of the game is a little mature. There's nothing explicit, but it's not for kids. Also, please keep in mind that the game is set in 1921. There are some attitudes, particularly when it comes to racism, that I certainly do not hold, nor did the other players -- in context for the time and setting, however, they are unfortunately realistic.

The main authors of this work are myself and Chris Gavin. A character played by Ilyana (a long time Compuserve RPG member) also makes a substantial appearance. This is our work. Do not copy the story, alter it, or distribute it as your own work. If you want to link to it, however, feel free.
