EOH: Edge of Hell got its start in the Compuserve RPG forum and is now played at the Dreamlyrics site. I think of it as a mutant mixture of Twin Peaks, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Days of Our Lives. It is the only game I've ever played where ordinary police detectives and actors interact (mostly unknowingly) with demons, angels, werewolves, and some things which I haven't been able to identify yet! This is one of my all-time favorite games.

I play detective Trevor J. Alexander. Trevor is from San Francisco, Calif., and attended UC Berkeley, where he received degrees in criminology and psychology and a masters in criminal psychology. He was directly recruited into the FBI and served in the San Francisco field office for five years.

He retired suddenly after a particularly harrowing case and moved to the small southern coastal townof Athenas, where he joined the Athenas PD as a police detective. The town is not nearly as sleepy as he'd supposed, and before two weeks had passed he had four dead bodies to investigate, some of which seem to be the work of a serial killer.....

This is the floorplan of Trev's house. Please note that I'm not an architect! The second floor is supposed to be about 2/3 the size of the first floor. If other things seem out of proportion, well, all I can say is that I've never taken a drafting class!

The house is old, built only a few years before the Great Depression. It isn't the biggest or fanciest house in Athenas by any means. What it lacks in glamor it makes up in sheer warmth and welcome. Built only a short walk from the beach, it is constructed out of wood and stone. Many of the windows are still framed in Art Nouveau curved wood and stained glass. A large screened-in porch stretches around half the house. The second floor is about 2/3 the size of the first floor and is offset from the front of the house.

Not shown are the unfinished basement and the garage. The basement is purely practical -- it has a dirt floor and houses the heating and air conditioning systems. The garage, built in the 1950s, is seperate from the house and is covered by climbing pink and red bougainville.

The kitchen door leads to a fenced-in backyard (yes, a white picket fence) where Trevor's Irish Setter Lady can sometimes be found. A gate in the back fence lets visitors out to the beach.
Lady
I finally found a picture of Trev! Of course this is a real person, an actor even, but when I saw this picture I knew I'd found my Trevor.

At work he wears suits that are a cut above standard PD fare and much more suited to his former job. At home he'll be found in much more casual wear -- short-sleeved shirts, jeans or shorts, and sandals. No matter what he wears, it is always flattering.
