Place Grève
Place Greve is a role playing game set in the setting of the novel The Scarlet Pimpernel, by Barness Orczy. An intrepid band of English meddlers are trying to sabotage the glorious French Revolution and rescue the corupt members of the parasitic aristocracy. Guess which side I'm on?  ;-)  At the moment I play two revolutionary characters -- Matthieu Bonacieux, a character of my own creation, and Representative Antoine Saint-Just, a historical figure who was one of the leaders of the Revolution and most notably one of the fiercest members of the Committee of Public Safety.

Of course, because this is the world of the Scarlet Pimpernel, you can guess who will be winning most of the confrontations. But it is quite a fun game. If you're interesting in joining, or even simply ghosting the game, visit the site
here.

Young Matthieu is an artist popular with the sans-culottes and the leaders of the Revolution. When he was 18 he had an experience with the aristocracy that shaped the rest of his life. Now, while he is not a bloodthirsty member of the Republic the likes of Saint-Just, he is a dedicated patriot. I've been writing a little of Matthieu's history here while playing him in the Place Greve rpg. To read them, cick on the picture of Liberty above.
Matthieu Bonacieux
(Ok, actually the actor Jason Done, portraying Mordred in the tv film "Merlin." He does bear a striking likeness to how I envision Matthieu.
