Jeff's Page about Andrea

This page is about my lovely wife without who I would be like a lost ship roaming aimlessly with the tide. She is my anchor, my rock, my beacon. Her warmth and caring are endless. Always willing to help someone in need, she is giving to a fault. She is protective of those she loves. Her vigilance only increases when there is a child involved. Be it our one niece or our three nephews, our friends kids, or her students at school, she always acts in their best interests.

Andrea loves children and loves nurturing children. Why else would anyone become a teacher? At times she becomes teary eyed around babies. This is not a sign of weakness or lack of maturity. It is just an outward symbol of her/our deep longing for children. For as long as I have known Andrea and according to her family, for all of her life she has wanted nothing more than to be a MOM. She comes from a nurturing family. Her older sister, the mother of two of our nephews, is also a teacher. Her mother is a nurse. Andrea's parents worked opposite shifts so that one of them could be home with the children at all times.

Her patience, tested and proven in the classroom, is boundless when it comes to children. Always helping little ones to answer the ever present question, why? All children ask this question. Allowing them to find their own answers unguided only leads to problems. Big problems that society can not afford any longer. There are some things that kids need to learn on their own. However this world is too big and complex now for them not to have a guide that is not only able but willing to guide them away from the dangers and pitfalls that await them.

I believe that Andrea fits the descriptions of both sculptors in the poem on the left. Caring, nurturing, and guiding are traits that come natural to her. They take no more conscious thought for her than it does to walk or breath.

We would love to talk with you.
