I dance for kings, I dance for queens; it pleasures them, or so it seems. I can leap in the air, with the greatest of ease, a smile on my face, always to please. I can dance a jig, or whatever you please, music in the air, may the trumpets cease. A crowd of onlookers , I could care less, the rythmn inside me, let the dance commence. Here come the soldiers, they applaude so much, like I was of royalty with this magical touch. I can dance anything that only pleases you, even when court jestures seem to intrude. So as I leap across the floor, I try to imagine ... no one watching me, ...with less motivation and passion. Copyright 2003. J. Mallinson |
