Consequence

Upon himself he took the blame
the tears he shed so full of shame.
The love she had was deep and strong
and in his heart, she thought she belonged.
Within a while, time took its' place
out of her arms and loving grace.
He held her hand with warmth and ease
with tears he cried and begged her please.
Please won't you tell me how I went wrong.
Please won't you tell me how I belong.
Her lips were so pale, she eyes were blue
he thought to himself "This cannot be, this cannot be true"
Her skin was so cold, it was like ice
no longer soft nor warm and nice.
He cried in silence with his head turned low
for what he could do, he did not know.
Her lips were sealed without a word
for his plea to her had gone unheard.
He cried for help, it was no use
For now she lay lifeless from her abuse.
Her love and memories are all he had left
and the price she paid for love, was death. -Jackie
