The last few years since the Reckoning and the onslaught of the Avatar Storm has been a surprisingly quiet time between the Traditions and the Technocracy. The Front Line Technocrats actions were almost entirely directed by their masters beyond the Gauntlet. Those members of the Technocratic Union trapped on the Front Lines were almost entirely Operatives, Employees and Citizens, who were merely following orders from beyond. In the 2 years since then, the Technocracy has experimented with various forms of regulating itself while continuing to follow the Precepts of Damian. What has developed is a flexible structure of loosely assigned Amalgams that are required to check in with the local Construct several times a month. They may be assigned to carry out directives or asked to report on their activities as they relate to the goals of the Technocracy.

Supervisors, Control and a newly (and self promoted) Symposium still head the Constructs on this side of the Gauntlet. However, the days of periodic assignments to Room 101 have gone by the wayside. Without the guarantee of reinforcements from the Inner Circle and the promise of a Utopia to come, modern leaders lead by example and charisma where the threat of punishment used to dominate how the Union operated.

Not that rank has entirely lost it's privileges however. The vast resources of the Union were, and are, mainly on this side of the Gauntlet. Without the moderating influence of the Masters from the Horizon, local and regional Constructs have grabbed and held onto whatever resources they can. This intense factionalism has extended to most of the Union and has occupied most of the last two years. Ironically, the best chance for a decisive strike against the Traditions has passed while the Technocracy fought within itself. While the Traditions were weakened by their own losses and ripe for final destruction, the Technocracy fought within itself over rank, position and influence.

It's only been in the last few months that this infighting has calmed down and ended. Without the guidance of the Masters, local symposiums follow the Precepts of Damian as best they understand them.
