With my bronze skin and hair like wool,
Scripturally defined by Wonderful.
Nobody able to duplicate this body of mine with oxymoronic skin,
'Cause my skin acts rugged and its attitude is
Yet its texture oozes smoothness, like fine wine it's exquisite. And it's beautiful
Let the world see that I'm beautiful.
As the brownness of my nose explains
And the roundness in my cheeks exclaims
While protruding from the bones of my soul.
And
my bone covering as a whole
Is
so black "model-esque",
Chiseled
to perfection by The Great Architect.
Then
dipped in yellow pudding,
Then
dipped in honey glazed syrup,
Then
dipped in Hershey chocolate,
Then
dipped in smelted black licorice and molasses.
Sweetly
eliminating impurities to define my true
blackness.
And
it's beautiful... Let the world see that I'm
beautiful.

I'm
Beautiful
Not
just pretty as a screaming Ali,
But
on a higher plane as high as planes that we can
all see.
Except
for a Stevie Wonder who would wonder my colored
mystery.
'Til
he rubs my colored surface and eloquently plays
it...like a song of poetry.
'Cause
this fine skin has those braille-like features
while its
Ruggedness
composes sensual sonnets and rhythmic blues
ballads...
And
it's beautiful...oh so beautiful...
Let
the world see that I'm beautiful.

I am
beautiful.
Don't think me odd
to describe my bod this way.
Manhood secure I'm
sure it's the perfect thing to say.
If I said it to
myself or to another or to many others.
Or others said it
to themselves, to me, or to each other.
And what a way to
begin the day as a sistah or a brothah
If we believed and
celebrated the loveliness of our color...
'Cause it's so
beautiful.
The world need not
see that Black
...is... Beautiful...
If we already know
it...
