Why a Doula?
Having a doula is benificial for any birth setting. Doulas provide their knowledge and insight during labor, and are the only prefessionals that stay with the mother throughout their entire labor and birth. A doula can also provide support to the mother's husband or other birth partner by helping them uderstand their role in labor and how to comfort and support their partners during the birth. Doulas provide the knowledge that a soon-to-be mother needs to make decisions about the last months of her pregnancy and her birth , and the security that many women need during this changing point in their lives.
