This morning, I had a dream in which I was getting ready for an Al concert. I was dashing around frantically, grabbing my camera and all my other assorted stuff, when I received a phone call telling me that the concert was postponed for a few more hours. I called up Ben and told him to pick me up a few minutes later. I then headed off to find my mom. I started asking her all these questions-"Do we have any battery powered Christmas lights? How about moist towelettes? Do we have any lightsabers?" The only lightsaber we had was broken, so I packed up the rest of my bag o' props and headed outside. Ben pulled in the driveway, and we drove off to the airport. (Apparently that was where the concert was located.) After we ran our bag of props through the scanner, we tore off down the halls into Terminal A-L. Turning right, we ran into the Lounge (a science classroom) and started chatting. I mentioned to Ben "The only other prop I need is a One More Minute jacket!" and a lady in a sparkly dress (my fairy godmother, I guess) popped up from the corner and threw one at me. I put it on and started petting it (it's FUZZY.) So, now clad in my very own red velvet and leopard print jacket, I turn on the TV. The TV was playing bits of DTV (Demented Television). Music videos for the Anniversary collections, commercials, sitcoms, you name it. It was hilarious. At about seven, we decided to get to the auditorium. We got up from our desks and began running down the halls again, finally ending up in the auditorium. We skidded into our seats and started talking about the concert coming up. (Incidentally, I was in row 2 seat 27. Center section. Very nice.) The lights dimmed, and the opening act came out. It was selected members of the school play (Little Shop of Horrors) and they were performing a version of Downtown (Skid Row). Now, I say a version, because none of them knew the words. So I started singing, to help them out. Then Mr. Hess (our drama director) pops up from the front row and tells them to do it over. They do, painfully slowly and out of tune. Finally, he lets them leave the stage and has the concert commence. I was on my feet the instant "Fun Zone" started playing. The song got up to the "Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey Hey" part when-I woke up. Darn it! I missed the concert! My Take On It Next Dream |
