This was around the point in time when I discovered Kimmee's Al page. I spent one night just reading her Al dreams. That's about when I decided that since everyone dreams, I must be dreaming too, and from now on I was going to remember them. Anyway, Kimmee had a few dreams involving Al fighting dangerous animals-alligators, and at one point a shoebox-sized pink spider, I think. The alligator dreams seemed so odd to me...Al fighting alligators? Where could that possibly come from? I had this vivid image in my head of Al head-stomping an alligator. *cracks knuckles* Let's see how much of this symbolism thing I can remember from AP Lit class. Here we go, a symbolistic analysis of this dream. Al is on stage, in the middle. He is the center of everyone's attention. I am off to one side, and Kimmee to the other, signifying that Al is the link between us. If it were not for Al, we would not have met. Al is on the stage at my high school, meaning he is on my turf and on my property...or as the case may be, in my head. He's really focused on his work, so he doesn't notice the two of us (signifying fans in general) but he is doing this for our benefit. The alligator sneaks up on Al. Al is about to be harmed by a malignant force. Kimmee stands up, getting Al's attention, and bellows his name to be doubly sure that he will notice the threat behind him. He turns around and capably removes the threat, showing that he can take care of any problems that may arise. Kimmee and I are applauding like mad, signifying our ultimate approval of whatever Al does. Al returns to his speech-his work-and there is no one there to hear it but his fans. The whole world loves a parodist. Anyway...Next Dream! |
