He placed a gentle kiss upon her cheek,

As she lay sleeping by his side.

He gently put his lips to hers,

As tears formed in his eyes.

He wanted so much to hold her close,

Until their hearts beat as one.

But she looked so sweet,an angelic child.

He would wait until the light of dawn.

He thought how much he loved her,

How many years have passed.

That they have been together,

And their love will always last.

He knew their souls united many lifetimes,

As lovers and as friends.

When souls are joined in Heaven,

It's a love that will never end.

As he gazed upon her beauty,

He kissed her one more time.

And whispered softy in her ear,

I'm glad that you are mine.

You are my reason for living,

My reason for going on.

He pulled her close beside him,

For the night had turned to "dawn".
