I wait by the waters edge,
As the last light of the day...is engulfed by
darkness.
And the stillness of the night,
Loses way to the beating of the waves against the
shore.
I wait as the shadows of the night,
Try to penetrate my soul.
As the rushing of the waves,
Rise then fall against the sand castles left
behind.
And as the sand pulls away beneath my feet.
I feel your presence behind me.
Then your arms engulf me like the shadows of the
night.
And your kiss breaks away to my heart,
Like the castles of sand against the waves.
As I feel your breath against my neck,
I close my eyes tightly.
For I am afraid if I see through the darkness,
It will take you away with it.

So I do not breathe,
I hardly move.
For the fear of losing you into the night,
Scares me.
You have become my life,
My reason to go on.
Without you,I would be like the sand castles,
Slowly being swept out to sea.
Only to be lost in the swirls of darkness forever.
