Black Unicorn Swirler Tag Tutorial

For this tutorial you will need:
Paint Shop Pro - Download a trial version here
Two Moons Filter - It is my understanding this is a free filter and since I can't find a download you can get it by clicking here .
Xenofex - Can be purchased here
Eye Candy 4000 Filter - Purchase filter here
You can get the tube and font I am using by clicking here . I used a tube I received from a newsgroup. If this is your image and you would like it removed please contact me.

Please keep in mind when doing my tutorials that the settings I am using are just the ones I used when I created it, feel free to change any of them you wish!

STEP ONE
Open transparent image of 600 x 600.

STEP TWO
Open tube of choice or one I have used here.
If you are using the image I am it will be called "UNICORNBLACK1.PSP".

STEP THREE
Edit/Copy Edit/Paste as new layer onto 600 x 600 image.

STEP FOUR
Open preset shape tool.

STEP FIVE
Change foreground to black and background to null

STEP SIX
Draw an oval around your tube.

STEP SEVEN
Selections/Select all/Float.

STEP EIGHT
Go to your layer pallette and right click on layer 3 and select convert to raster layer.


STEP NINE
Make your tube layer inactive by clicking on the eye glasses on your layer pallette to put a red x over them.

STEP TEN
Use your magic wand and click inside the black outline on your layer 3.

STEP ELEVEN
Flood fill with color #4040FF or color of choice.


STEP TWELVE
Go to layers Arrange & move your layer down.


STEP THIRTEEN
Open paint brush with these settings:
Shape:Round
Size: 10
Hardness:0
Opacity: 100
Step: 25
Density: 100
Build up: Checked


STEP FOURTEEN
Change foreground color to #C0C0FF of lighter color of choice.Background null.

STEP FIFTEEN
Selections/Select all/Float

STEP SIXTEEN
Paint some lines and curly Q's on your blue oval.


STEP SEVENTEEN
Select none.

STEP EIGHTEEN
Turn layer2 back on and duplicate it. Turn copy of layer 2 off.

STEP NINETEEN
Merge layer 2, promoted layer and layer 1 visible.

STEP TWENTY
Effects/ geometric effects/twirl (repeat 2 x's - so you have done it a total of 3 times). Settings:Degrees: -720


You will now have:


STEP TWENTY-ONE
Effects/ geometric effects/Spiky Halo with these settings:
Horizontal offset:100
Vertical offset:-100
Radius:15
Amplitude:50
Frequency:75


STEP TWENTY-TWO
Effects/Plugin Filters/Two Moon/Swirler. These settings:
Spin Cycles:255
Carve the Curve:150


STEP TWENTY-THREE
Effects/ Geometric Effects/ Circle.Repeat this 3 times.


STEP TWENTY-FOUR
Effects/Plugin Filters/Two Moon/Swirler using Default settings. Repeat this 2 times.


STEP TWENTY-FIVE
Effects/Geometric Effects/Circle

STEP TWENTY-SIX
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow with these settings:
Horzontal:5
Vertical:5
Opacity: 100
Blur: 5
Color: #0000FF


STEP TWENTY-SEVEN
Turn Copy of layer2 back on & highlight it.

STEP TWENTY-EIGHT
Add drop shadow to tube. Same setting as above except change color to #404040.


STEP TWENTY-NINE
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible

STEP THIRTY
Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow: These settings.
Horizontal:10
Vertical:10
Opacity:100
Blur:0
Color: Black

Apply Drop Shadow again except change Horizontal and
Vertical to -10.

STEP THIRTY-ONE
Layers/Merge/Merge all flatten.

STEP THIRTY-TWO
Open Crop tool and crop your image down to about 1/2.

STEP THIRTY-THREE
Open text tool, WIth the following settings:
Unicorn Font
Size:28
Stroke & Fill: Black
Bold & Italic Checked
Floating & Antialias both checked


STEP THIRTY-FOUR
Click ok and arrange text to where you want it. Do not deselect.

STEP THIRTY-FIVE
Effects/Plugin Filters/Eye Candy 4000/Bevel Boss/Blue Light preset.



STEP THIRTY-SIX
Effects/Plugin Filters/Eye Candy 4000/Shadow Lab/Drop Shadow preset and select none.



STEP THIRTY-SEVEN
Layers/Merge/Merge Visible

STEP THIRTY-EIGHT
Effects/ Plugin Filters/Xenofex 1.1/Stain/Mildew/Default Settings.Apply 2 times.


STEP THIRTY-NINE
Resize to 85% and save as a JPG file.
