God's Garden |
God looked around His garden and He found an empty place, He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw that the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered, "Peace be thine." It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn't go alone, For part of me went with you the day God called you home. Author Unknown |

When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. You lived your life in a manner so that when you died, The world cried and you rejoiced. |

I love you, Mom. |
On August 17th, 2002, my mom ended her battle with myelodysplasia and secondary myelofibrosis. It was a brief fight of only 92 days, but it was brutal. These diseases raged mercilessly against my mom and took the ultimate toll. My greatest consolation has been in knowing that she is in a far better place now, and will never again feel any pain. I miss my mom more than any words could ever begin to say, and I now truly understand the meaning of great loss. She was not only my mom, she was my best friend. I am fortunate that I was able to be with her as she made her final journey out of this world. I know in my heart that she knew I was with her, holding her hand, and loving her until she no longer needed my mortal comfort. I pray that she is there to meet me when the time comes for me to go Home. I will miss her all the rest of my days, but I loved her enough to understand that she had to leave me and it is because of this love that I chose to help her go. |
In Loving Memory of Georgia V. Russell She was called away 1 year ago today, August 17, 2002. If roses grow in Heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for me, Place them in my mom's arms And tell her they are from me. Tell her I love her and I miss her, And when she turns to smile, Place a kiss upon her cheek. And hold her for a while. Loving her was easy, missing her is pain, I pray the Angels keep her safe, Until we meet again. Today Jesus, as You are listening In Your Home above Would You go & find my mom and give her all my love. |
