'39 Chevy 2dr Sedan
Jim Winters, of Payson AZ asked if a '39 Chevy 2dr sedan was in a kit to make a model of his car.  I thought it was done in resin but couldn't find one available.  Suddenly, this presents a challenge to me.  So I took some photos and measurements of his car at a local car show.
I photographed the sedan delivery using the same camera and positioned it so that the model is in the same position. Easier said than done. I added some removable tape with a penciled grid to find some key locations. This overlay shows 20% of the reference car in a photo program.
Same overlay with 60% reference. I threw in some random dots on the grid to help count positions. I can find the curve of the rear window, the 'B' post, the roof curve and the trunk. Together with some field measurements I can cut up this up with some real accuracy.
I took these measurements at the show. Photos can really serve as measurements but there is nothing like the real thing. I rarely have this luxury on the obscure concept cars I enjoy.

Note: You can convert inches to scale millimeters by

1/25 formula
inches x 1.016 = mm

or 1/24 formula
inches x 1.058 = mm

37" x 1.058 = 39 mm Trunk lid
