Cheap Macro | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
This is a project I did to explain how to take macro photos with a cheap camera.
This is a cheap camera that has no focusing and no macro. I bought a pair of glasses for the camera. These are +350 reading glasses (3.5 Diopter). I found these for a buck at the dollar store.
I removed a lens from the glasses and held it in front of the camera lens. Instant macro !!!
Here's what the model looks like without the reading glasses.
Here's the math. +3 diopter means when the eye or camera is focused at infinty it will focus at 1/3 meter with the lens. 2 Diopter means a 1/2 meter etc. These reading glasses say +350 or 3.5 diopter. A meter is 39.37 inches so take 39.37 divided by 3.5 and that makes 11.25 inches. I set the camera 11 inches from the center of the model to take these sample pictures. Glasses Distance +200 = 20 inches +250 = 17 inches +300 = 13 inches +350 = 11 inches |
