Old Sketches from 1963-4
The Shadow
These are a few surviviing sketches I did around 63 or 64. The one on the right was actually being built !  The Shadow is a hover-craft and it's still incomplete, GO FIGURE !!. It was being made from a '64 RAMBLER American. I was influenced by the 1961 Ford Leva Car and I'm sure Roth was too, since he built the Rotar! Barris built the X.P.A.C. 400 .
These drawing were done on graph paper in order to create the drawing seen at the top. I used a PerspectoGraph drafting device that could plot out a perspective drawing one point at a time. It was my fathers and and it was hand made out of plexiglass.

The is the model that had to custom bubble top. I partially filled a ballon with plaster and forced through the cockpit opening and then vacuum formed a bubble over the plaster mold. Neat!!
This is the wildest thing I've ever done. Not sure what the concept was ... It sure is different! Maybe a super hero would have liked it. It never made it to the model table.
