I have told a few people that I am starting to sell some of my built up models, one I knew for sure that I could sell was a replicia of Rick Starbirds Camero that is in the Starbird museum, so I called Darryl Starbird at the museum and offered it to him first. He jumped at the chance. There are small props for the hood and trunk built in. The motor has a aftermarket intake, Holley carb, and air cleaner, it also has metal fan/water pump pulleys, plug wire with wire loom seperators, aftermarket heater hose and braided radiator hose, the alt bracket is hand made as is the oil dip stick, there are after market disc brake rotors, calipers and metal rear brake drums.
The paint is some of Rick's touch up paint, so it is the same color, the doors were cut open and door jambs were made and molded in, the trunk was also cut open and a inner lip was added, the trunk hinges are made from brass wire, same as the door hinges, the gas filler is also done in the trunk, the shifter and consel are scratch made also, there is a turn signal lever on the steering wheel and the front end and rear end were lengthened, the fender flairs and running boards are molded in also.
Rick said when he was building the car, he started with the Mazda RX-7 headlight covers and built the front end around them, the paint is a mix of blue and candy hot pink pearl. |
