I use file folder templates to cut-up models. The same technique is used to section a car. The template would be moved up or down for a section job.
Right out of the box the 1966 Olds 442.
Four barrel, 4 on the floor and dual exhaust.
But in this case it's used to accurately copy the cut to another model.
The separation. The roof line was the logical place to cut since it too must be stretched.
I saved the gas lid and saved the Olds door detail. I'm using the Chevy windshield, but the body stretch is next.
It could be worse, I could be working in steel. Thanks to my friends in the U.K. on this '70 V/C photo.
