2003 OLTL Luncheon

* My 2003 OLTL Luncheon Photos *

- On August 9, 2003 I went to the OLTL Luncheon in NYC at the Marriot Marquis Hotel!!! I had such an AWESOME time! On this page you'll see my pictures from the event (please don't take them without my permission) and you'll read my encounters with everyone that I met! Enjoy :-)

Ok here goes: The Limo to take my Mother and I to the Hotel arrived at exactly 7 o'clock, the ride there was really fast and getting into the City didn't take as long as I thought it would. So we get there and WOW the Marriot Marquis Hotel is GORGEOUS!!! VERY BIG and rich looking. So we rode the escalator up to the 5th floor, and there were already about 20 people there, waiting in line because at 9 o'clock the raffle/auction part of the Event was going on and then at 11 we were going into the Ballroom where the Luncheon would be held. So while waiting in line, we met a few people, talked etc...then the line started moving, we walked up to a huge table, gave in our tickets and got these cool bracelets and some more info sheets and we were able to take 2 Soap Magazines that were there which was really good because there were really good pictures of some of the stars in there that later on we would find out were there. So it was good because I got them to sign the pictures in there than having them just sign the regular autograph sheets. So then we walked to the raffle/auction tables, there was SO much cool stuff there! Autographed pictures, clothes worn by the cast, props etc...So each raffle ticket was a dollar so I bought a few and put the majority of the tickets into the container for the Nathaniel Marston (Al) autographed photo, being that I thought he wasn't going to be there, and I REALLY wanted an autographed picture from him and we put some in for the autographed Roger Howarth (Ex-Todd) autographed picture because my Mom is a huge fan and also some in for autographed scripts.

Now it was around 10:15 so by now, we were hanging out with these two really nice ladies, Heidi and I don't remember the other one. So we went down to Starbucks, which was in the Hotel. So we stayed in there for awhile and then made our way back up to the 5th floor when it got closer to 11. So we got up there and they announced that we could go in the Ballroom now. So we got in there and WOW it was huge and very, very nice. We found our table (27) and sat down. I was starting to get excited by now and I couldn't keep still or shut up! Thank God for Tanya and her mom! Two very nice ladies who we met there, they sat with us at the table and we were talking up a storm she was saying how she hoped that Nathaniel was going to be there and she FREAKED! She too was a HUGE Fan, just like me! So that was great! The whole time we kept talking about Nathaniel and how she met him, Bruce, and a few others a week ago. So they served us Salad, which I didn't eat, then some kind of fancy Chicken and some other stuff. I didn't eat anything at all! I was too nervous to eat, I really, really wanted Nathaniel to be there but I didn't know if he would be. So after all the food was done, they announced all the raffle and auction winners. We and the people at our table didn't win anything :-( so after I didn't win the Nathaniel photo I kept thinking 'Ok he's got to be here than' I don't know I just had a feeling. So when they were done calling out all the numbers and names. Right next to the table next to us, was a door, and the door kept opening and a bunch of people were in there and that's when I and everyone else realized that it was the OLTL Cast!! They were going to be coming out of that door, which was so close to us!! So FINALLY, they started announcing everyone. Kristen Alderson came out first, she was so cute and got a very big welcome from everyone. She actually announced everyone as they came out of the room, waved to all of us and made their way up to the stage. Then that's when it happened, I think it was after Melissa Archer (Natalie) came out that my Mother saw Nathaniel!! I didn't see him at first but then he came and stood by the front of the door! He was still eating! I freaked!! I was SO happy, I couldn't think of anything else. When Bruce came out, everyone went crazy, he looked very good and he got a hair cut too! And when Nathaniel finally came out everyone went nuts, and as he was sitting down, the whole room stood in standing ovation for him. It was so cool! He was so touched and happy about it. After the whole cast was announced, and everyone was settled. The cast started raffling off for the people who didn't win any of the raffles before, some of their own stuff that they brought with them. After that was the Award Ceremony, than the Q&A's. Shanelle Workman (Flash) ran around the whole room going to people and getting their questions. She was so cute and very energetic to do so. After that, some of the cast members had some announcements to make. Like James DePaiva (Max) announced that ABC had terminated his contract and cast members who didn't find out until that moment freaked out along with all the Fans. So that was the most depressing part of the day.

After all of that was done, it was time for the Autograph Session!! The whole Cast separated out to daises tables that were located all around the room. Of course, Tanya and I were going to go to Nathaniel and Kathy Brier's (Marcie) first. We watched Nathaniel as he got off stage and was on the right side of the room, so we followed him and he walked right in front of me and I froze. Tanya yelled to him though and he said he remembered her and that's when we realized he was leaving the room to go to the bathroom. So we decided to go on David Fumero (Cristian) and Melissa Archer's (Natalie) line first. My mother ran over to us and said she was going to wait in Kassie DePaiva (Blair) and James DePaiva's (Max) line. Although as she was leaving she screamed to David and asked if he remembered us from the New Jersey event that we went to and he looked right at me and smiled that great smile and said "yes!!" so that was great. Since I didn't have a picture for David to sign, I picked a really HOT center fold from the Soaps In Depth magazine that we got there for him to sign.

I walked up to him and said "hey!!" and he said "hey!!" with a huge smile on his face. I handed him my magazine picture and he said "is it with a C or a K? I don't remember" and then he looked at my name tag and saw it was with a C. So as he was signing my photo, he was asking me if I was having fun and all that stuff and I said, "yea of course!" and we started talking about the New Jersey event, he even remembered that my hair was straight back then, being that now it was curly, so then we just got into a very good conversation, I kept looking right into his eyes, which are BEAUTIFUL by the way, there hazel, see the first time I met him, he was wearing these glasses so I wasn't really able to look right into his eyes and see them so this time I was happy to finally see them! He was so sweet, and very cute, he wasn't as shy as he was the first time I met him so we kept talking and then they were yelling at me to keep moving so I had to go, so I said goodbye and moved right on to Melissa Archer (Natalie).

Being that I spent so much time with David, I had to make it quick with Melissa. "Hi there!" she said to me, "Hi Melissa! Could you please personalize this for me?" I said as I handed her my picture for her to sign. "Sure I can!" she said and then she looked at my name tag at how to spell my name. When she was done I asked if I could get a picture with her and she said "absolutely" and we took a picture together. Then I had to go, so I said bye and she said bye and then I met up with Tanya who was waiting for me and then we were off to Nathaniel Marston and Kathy Brier's (Marcie) line.

As we were on our way to Nathaniel and Kathy's line, my Mom ran back over to us. She had just met Kassie and James and she told me that Kassie absolutely LOVED my photo of her that I printed up. She even gave my Mom an autographed picture to give to me just in case I wasn't able to make it on her line later on. she also told me that when she was coming out of the bathroom, she ran into John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex) and she told him that I was the one who did his website and that he wrote to me about it and sent me an autographed picture and he remembered! He asked if I was there and she said yes! So he said to have me come over to him because he really wanted to meet me!

So now we were finally on our way to Nathaniel and Kathy's line. I was so excited I couldn't wait to meet him. Tanya kept making fun of me and saying how she was going to embarrass me in front of him but I was cool with it. We waited in line for 10 minutes and then finally it was my turn.

Kathy was the first I met. "Hi Kathy!" I said as I went up there, "Hi!" she said with a huge smile. She was so sweet and I felt really comfortable with talking to her. I handed her my own picture for her to sign and as she was signing it I was telling her how pissed I was about Nathaniel being let go and she said she knows, I told her what a huge Al and Marcie Fan I was and that I even have a website for them, and she was very happy and appreciative of that. I asked her about a rumor I had heard that when Al leaves there going to put Marcie and Joey together, and she laughed. "I'd rather it be Marice and Al though" she said and I totally agreed with her. We took a picture together and then next to meet was Nathaniel.

I looked at him and he was smiling at me. "Hi" I said shyly. "Hey!!" he said back to me, I handed him my picture of him to sign for me and he asked me where I got it from and I kind of cut him off by telling him how pissed I was that he was let go and he said "yeah I know" and then I was like "Go to GH!" and he laughed and said "I don't think I'll ever work on another ABC Soap again" so I was like "Oh...ok" and then he told me how a lot of people are being fired because of Michael Easton coming to the show and I was like "Ewww what the hell?" and he just laughed. "Now how do you spell your name?" he asked me, and I said it's right here, pointing to my chest where my name tag was (hehe) so he looked and with each letter he wrote on my picture he kept looking to see if he spelled it right...I think (hehe) so he finally signed my picture and as he was doing so I told him what a huge MARCAL Fan I was and asked him if I could get a picture with him for the site. "I don't know if you're allowed to stand or not" I said and he said "of course I can!" and he got up and I walked over with him to the wall and I was like "Damn! Where's Tanya? she said she'd take this!" and he was like "I'll take it!" So we got really close, and he took the picture of us together, using my camera. I looked at the picture right after and saw that he cut half his head off! I told him and he handed the camera to Dan Gauthier (Kevin) and he said "Hey, this guy will take it!" so we got close again and Dan took an awesome picture of us together. I was so happy!! Nathaniel looked down at me and smiled and I was like "thank you so much!" Nathaniel was so sweet, and very HOT in person just like I knew he would be :-) you could definitely tell that he loves his Fans and will miss being on the show. Afterwards I ran over to Dan and got my camera, that he really liked back "this is sweet!!" he said referring to the picture, I laughed and thanked him and met up with Tanya and her Mother again, who were standing there while I was taking my picture with Nathaniel so then we decided to go on to Trevor St. John's (Walker) line.

We got on Trevor's line, which was growing by the second, you could tell he was enjoying himself, he acted as if he's been doing these kinds of Events his whole life! But this was his first ever HUGE Fan Event! He was wearing glasses, which everyone loved him in. He looked very, very HOT!!!

"Hey Trevor!" I said as I walked up to him. "Hey there!" he said in such a soothing voice. "I really love you on OLTL, you're doing such an amazing job!" I said to him. "Why thank you! Thank you very much!" he said with a beautiful smile. I handed him my picture for him to sign for me and he looked at my name tag and began signing it. I kept talking to him as he was signing it. I don't know why but I was kind of flirty with him. He just made you feel so nice, and welcomed. We took a picture together and then I asked him how they're going to make it that Walker is really Todd, "I guess a million dollars worth of plastic surgery?" I said to him and he laughed. "Well things aren't always what they seem" he said or something like that with a smirk. And I was like "ok well I will definitely keep watching and you're doing such a great job I'm so happy you're on OLTL!" so he thanked me again and said "it was very nice meeting you" and I said the same then I had to leave because I took a little longer with him than I was supposed to but I couldn't help it! He was so sweet and I felt really comfortable with him too. So as I was walking off his line I ran into Tanya and her Mom, I already made up my mind that I was going to go on Bruce's next so they came along with me.

We got on Bruce's line, he was there with Catherine Hickland (Lindsay) and Jessica Morris (Jen). So the line was LONG but I was so psyched to finally meet Catherine and not to mention Bruce, who looked so good!!! As we got closer, I noticed that Catherine and Bruce weren't sitting down at the daises table anymore. They were standing up and mingling with the crowd. I stood behind a lady, who was next to meet Catherine. Catherine smiled at her and gave her a huge hug. I was so touched by that and than I realized that Catherine did that to EVERYONE! 'WOW! What a great person!' I thought to myself as I watched this. than before I knew it, I was next!

"Hey there gorgeous!" Catherine said to me as I walked up to her. "Hey!!" I said with a big smile. She gave me a huge hug and then we started talking. "Oh my God, you're such a beautiful and great Actress!" I said to her. "Thank you, thank you so much!" she said with a huge smile. Then I asked her if she could sign my photo of her that I had and she said "Sure!" so as she was signing it, I asked her if she could personalize it for me and she said "of course I can!" and she did. Then we took a picture together and I thanked her and she thanked me and then other people started talking with her because they were going to cut the line soon so I saw that right behind her was Bruce Michael Hall (Joey).

I walked up and said "Hi Bruce!" and he said "Hi!" being that I took my name tag off earlier he didn't get my name right away. So I gave him a short letter and I typed up to him all about this site, my e-mail etc. And he said that he's checked a few out and will make sure to check mine out too. Then all of a sudden Jessica gets up from the daises table, grabs her drink and is leaving! Everyone still in line is shouting to her "Jen you didn't finish the line!!!" and she honestly didn't seem to care I think she was kind of upset because being that Catherine and Bruce were like standing and talking with everyone in the line, no one was going to her. So whatever, so then I'm talking with Bruce getting ready to hand him my photo to get autographed and then his "Body guard" or whatever is pulling him away! And I'm like what the hell??? So he's walking away and I scream out "Bruce! Can you please just sign my photo!" So he comes back and says he's really sorry and signs my photo, so then these people in line just come off and come over to us and they're all talking to him while I'm supposed to be talking to him!! Now that was the only part I was pissed about, so I handed a lady my camera and she took a picture of me and him and then he really had to go so he left. You could tell he really wanted to stay but him and Jessica had to get out of there for some reason so oh well. I wish I would've had more time with him, there was so much I wanted to say but whatever, Ill meet him again, someday.

After that, I met up with my Mom again, and we decided to go over to John-Paul Lavoisier's (Rex) line. We got over there and Ilene Christian (Roxy) was there too. So my Mom met her and I went ahead to John-Paul.

So I walked up to him and said "Hey! My Mom told me that you wanted to meet me!" and he was looking at me and then it hit him! "Oh yea about the website!" and I'm like "yea!" and he's like "Thank you so much! I LOVE it!!" and I'm like "your welcome :-)" and he started signing my picture and then I asked him if I could get a picture with him for the website and he said "sure!" and stood up and we posed together for a great picture. Than he thanked me again and it totally slipped my mind to ask him if I could make the site OFFICIAL but I had so many things on my mind! He was SO cute and very. very nice!

After him we went to go on Shanelle Workman's (Flash) line but we realized she left already so my Mom went over to a few ladies and I went back over to our table to fix all my stuff and sit for once! So as I was sitting there, I noticed that Shanelle Workman (Flash) was back! She was standing there and talking with a few people so I got my picture out for her to sign and waited for another person to go over to her so I wouldn't be the only one. So I took out my pen and she was posing for a picture with someone and I noticed her "body guard" or whatever was getting mad because she really wasn't supposed to be.

I went right up to her and asked her if she could please sign my picture. And she did, I also asked her if she could personalize it for me and she was happy to. "Thank you so much!" I said as she handed me back my pen "aww your so welcome!" she said and then that was it, she had to leave. I wish I went to her earlier on, she was so nice and so small in person! But very, very sweet.

After I met her, I met up with Tanya and her Mom again, so we decided to go back over to Nathaniel and Kathy's line. She wanted to do his Fan Club and I wanted to do his OFFICIAL website and run his Fan Club with her. So we wrote down all our information on paper to give to him and also we wanted to know how to get in touch with him after he leaves the show.

We both went up to him this time and we handed him the papers. Kathy was surprised to see us again, so I told her what it was about and she understood. He took the papers and said that he didn't have an e-mail address but he gave us his managers phone number so we could get in touch with her and him that way. We were very pleased with that so we got off the line before we were yelled at by the people who were waiting. Although I did want to get a picture with Dan Gauthier (Kevin) who was standing right there.

I walked right up to him and asked him if I could get a picture with him being that I didn't have anything with me for him to sign. He was very nice, he came into the crowd just like Catherine and Bruce did and was mingling with everyone. I took my picture with him and thanked him I also said that I would write to him at the studio for an autographed picture and he said he'd definitely reply! He was very, very nice and very HOT in person! After I met him I took the camera back to look at the picture and I noticed that Tanya cut my head off in it!! Grrr!!

After I met Dan, I saw my Mom again who was on Robin Strasser's (Dorian) line. I got on there with her and she was talking to people who met us in the past at another Soap Event.

My Mom let me go first, so I walked up to her and said "hi Robin! I'm Christine and this is my Mother; Angela and we just love you!" She smiled sweetly and thanked us both. My mom went on to tell her that she's been watching the show for 30 years and Robin was very happy about that. She both signed photos for us and posed for a picture with us and then we had to go because they were cutting her line and the party was almost over.

After we met Robin, I really wanted my Mom to meet Catherine. So we made our way over to her line.

Catherine Hickland (Lindsay Rappaport)

We walked up to her and she said hello to me again because she remembered me from before and I told her how sweet she was and that I wanted her to meet my Mom, so she thanked me for that and my Mom and her started talking and then I took a picture of the both of them together and then she had to go.

After Catherine, my Mom ran me over to Kassie DePaiva (Blair) and James DePaiva's (Max) line. My Mom pointed to me and said that I was the one who made the picture of her and Kassie smiled and thanked me very much for it. I'm sad I wasn't able to spend more time with her but by then everyone was getting crazy because they were cutting the lines and people had to go so I'm very happy that she gave my Mom an autographed photo for me!! So after that we saw Tanya and her Mom sitting down at the table so we sat down with them.

My Mom than decided that she wanted to go meet Robert S. Woods (Bo) now because his line which was massive during the day, was down to only about 5 people now, so I got up with her and went with her up there. He was very nice, he autographed my Mom's autograph sheet and they spoke among themselves as I stood by ready to snap a picture. She pointed out that I was her daughter and I watch the show too and he was happy about that. So then I took the picture of them together and we said good bye and went back to the table.

While we were sitting there, Dan Gauthier (Kevin) came by, so my Mom grabbed him for an autograph and he was happy to do so even though he was on his way out. He said good bye to us and thanked us for coming and left. A lot of people had left by then and the party was coming to an end and that's when I told Tanya that I was going to go back over to Nathaniel and Kathy who were STILL THERE and say a final goodbye to him. So she came over there with me. We stood there for about 5 minutes while they finished up with the Fans. Than they were getting up to leave, Nathaniel was putting his baseball cap on by now and as they were getting up my Mom ran up there and spoke to Kathy and told Nathaniel good luck in the future etc...then he saw me again and smiled and I asked him for a hug and he gave me a very long and tight hug! " I'm going to miss you so much" I said to him as he was crushing me (haha!) but I didn't mind at all. I was so happy from the days success that I couldn't even think straight. So we pulled apart and we ended up walking out with him and Kathy. We said a final good bye and they left with the security people they were with. They made their way over to the elevator but it was packed so they had to come by us AGAIN to go down the escalator. Nathaniel saw me and I smiled and he smiled and said "bye" one last time then they left for good.

While we stood there, we said goodbye to Tanya and her Mom and then my Mom and I headed out to the Limo that was waiting to take us home. All in all it was a FANTASTIC DAY!!! I went there thinking that I was only going to be able to meet about 5 people but I ended up meeting most of the people that were there! The OLTL Cast, is very nice, and made up of very genuine people. They care for their Fans and care about what we all think about them, the show etc...I have no complaints what so ever! If you really love the show and you can't make it to the Florida or California's Super Soap Weekends, than going to one of these is the BEST alternative! You get so much and you'll have so much fun! And you wont have to deal with walking around a HOT, and crowded theme park all day long so in conclusion to my LONG and OUTSTANDING day I just want to say that I LOVE OLTL even more now and I can't wait to go again next year!!!
