Come rendezvous
to Louisiana,
where the women &
the food are spicy,
and the music
has variety,
and the fun is
here to be had
as the Cajun phrase
"laissez faire",
meaning to relax with
the Louisiana sun with
a cool breeze
in a State that is
always "Kool".
We take it slow here,
just like a good,
slow lovin'.
When you visit
Louisiana
you won't want to leave.
The most beautiful
women in the world
are found here
in the Louisiana
"Melting Pot,"
of nationalities
combined with
our French
and Spanish heritage
and architecture.
Shaped like a capital L,
Louisiana is bordered by
Mississippi on the east,
the Gulf of Mexico
on the south,
Texas on the west,
and Arkansas on the north.

The Spanish were
the first Europeans
to explore the area
in the 1500s,
but it was not until
the late 1600s that
French settlers named
the region Louisiane
in honor of the
French King Louis XIV
and his wife Ana
and claimed it
for France.
The British acquired
parts of the state
in 1763, but
returned those colonies
to the French in 1800.
Then in 1803,
the United States
wrote the La. Purchase,
acquired from Napoleon.
during the War of 1812,
British ships moved up the
Mississippi River
to New Orleans.
On January 8, 1815,
Gen. Andrew
Jackson's troops,
along with the help of
the famous Pirates
Jean' and Pierre Lafitte
defeated the British
at New Orleans.
A statue of the general
on horseback
is standing now
in Jackson Square in
New Orleans's
French Quarter.
