DMX, born as Earl Simmons on December 18, '70 in Baltimore, Maryland. Moved to Yonkers, New York to avoid getting in trouble. Here he took a strong liking to music, and he began rapping to the ladies.
In the early 90's he signed a deal with Columbia Records and released "Born Loser", but it did not go far. He got out of that contract and signed a deal with Def Jam. From there he released two albums in the same year and both debuted at #1. Since, he has released three more hot albums and another coming soon. The alias DMX was derived from his nickname Dark Man X.
