| SYMPTOMS OF A SPIRITUAL ATTACK |

| If we do not hunger and thirst for the things of God and His character, there will be no infilling. An empty vessel will be filled with something - good or evil. Choose to protect that which is God and build upon it withe Word. NUMBER TWO: The next symptom that we can find on a person under attack is, The Loss of Strength - Even though they are smiling and saying the same things, they have lost their force about them. They have lost their spiritual punch and accuracy. There is no life, joy, or jump in them. True joy, strength and life comes from the inward man. Eph. 6:10 - "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might." The only way a believer can effectively fight an attack is by gaining strength from the Lord. You can not win outside the Spirit. Allow your confession in the Word of God to give you strength: "Let the weak say, I am strong..." We must be careful not to rely on natural ability when we are in a spiritual war. NUMBER THREE: The final symptom that we are going to deal with, is, You don't feel like Yourself - When the natural body is sick, you feel terrible. We have a tendency to be impatient with people. We usually act gripey and bossy even to those we love the most. We don't feel like ourselves, we feel strange and we act strange. When the body is sick, our natural tendency is to lay on the sofa, watch television; or go to bed and sleep the day away. Learn to recognize a spiritual attack in the same way. When you are being fought by the enemy, whether it is totally demonic or maneuvered through a human being, you begin to feel things that are not true. One of those feelings is "paranoia". You begin to feel like you are being judged, criticized, and that everyone is looking at you and telling you how awfully wrong you are. You feel like you can never please anyone because your life is such a spectacle. If you give in to those feelings, you'll quit and go backwards. That is called an attack of the devil. You are the victor; so be it. You are more than a conqueror; so conquer. Don't stand there and say, "Well, no one likes me." Say, "DEVIL, I BREAK YOUR POWER!" Learn to recognize when an attack comes. Stand up to it and win in the strength of the Lord. |
| (This is part three of my series) The enemy will attack in your mind, your body and your spirit. But there are clear indicators of attack -we can know them by enumerating the symptoms. NUMBER ONE: When a person is under attack, They Lose their Spiritual Hunger for God - Just as physical appetite leaves a person who is sick in their body, it is also the first thing to hit and leave a person under spiritual attack. They are not hungry for the things of God. They don't want to go to church, they don't want to pray, they don't want to read their Bible and to be blunt, and they don't really care about God at that moment. They like Him; but He's not thenumber one! Since our spiritual hunger is the first thing the enemy will attack in us, we must protect it at all costs. Matt.5:6 says: "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." |
